You know what keeps me up at night: What happens when the most powerful person, who also craps himself nightly might be falling apart physically, and we're all just watching it happen in real fucking time?Listen, I'm not here to play political games or dance around some bullshit diplomatic language. When you lay out a constellation of symptoms like this the wobbly gait, the mysterious bruising, the breathlessness, the cognitive scatter you're looking at a medical picture that smells worse than a rotting fish left in the summer sun. And as someone who gives a shit about what happens when leaders can't lead, we need to talk about what these symptoms actually fucking mean.
The human body doesn't lie. And try as Donald ShitsThePants tries he can't spin it, can't tweet it the way out of reality, can't hire a press secretary to explain away the biological truth. When multiple systems start showing signs of distress simultaneously, when balance becomes compromised, when unexplained bruising appears, when cognitive function seems to fragment that's not just "getting older." That's the body sending up flares, screaming that something fundamental is breaking down.
The Neurological Nightmare: Parkinson's Disease and Its Cruel Mathematics
Let's start with the fucking elephant in the room Parkinson's disease. Yep, I fucking said it. PARKINSONS. This bastard of a condition doesn't just waltz in and announce itself; it creeps up like a predator in the night, stealing pieces of neurological function one synapse at a time. So lets run down the list.Fred Trump Sr. (Donald's father): Diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
Maryanne Trump Barry (Donald's late sister): Showed symptoms similar to dementia parkinsons before her death, though not formally diagnosed.
John Walter (Donald's cousin): Also had dementia and lateral parkinsons like symptoms, but was never clearly diagnosed.
The bradykinesia that's the medical term for slowed movement fits like a glove with descriptions of dragging a leg "like a piece of wood." Parkinson's doesn't just make you move slower; it makes every movement feel like you're pushing through invisible molasses. The gait becomes shuffling, unsteady, and patients often develop what we call festination a hurried, forward-leaning walk that looks like they're chasing their own center of gravity. We have seen this with Donald PissesHimselfs trips and falls.

(17,101 posts)I always think it's bad when I say something like that. After all, it's not a good thing to wish someone dead. But in Trump's case, I use the old Star Trek moniker of "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few".
The damage he has caused, is causing, and will cause needs to be stopped.

But he's done so much damage, and will continue to do so! Including deaths from covid screw ups, withholding food and, and medicine by gutting USAID etc.
Though recently I've directed ill will towards Miller, too. What a hideous man. Paying more attention to him? Idk.

(417 posts)Vance is just as ruthlessly vile as Trump, but he is in better cognitive and physical health. He will be able to fool the fools far longer, he just has more time left on the biological clock. He is not well liked right now but I fear what the propaganda machine can do on his behalf.
Consider this: Vance is an associate of Peter Thiel. Thiel was part of a big push to get Vance the VP nod. Vance is fully onboard with Thiel's vision for America, IE, the oligarchs run it all and we serve them christofacist style.
Their strategy for Trump is to get him past the halfway point of his term so that when they push Vance to the top, it doesn't count as Vance's first term. If they get Trump a day past his halfway point, then they get 2 years of Vance. With a stolen election or two getting Vance almost 10 years in office. Think of the election rigging they could manage in that time!
We really need to defeat this now. We have a limited number of chances to beat this back and each successive one has a lower chance of succeeding. If they get Vance in office to succeed Trump and get him 2 full terms after that, they win.
Let's please defeat this before it gets to the point of Frodo not throwing the ring into the volcano, but Gollum biting the ring off of Frodo's hand then accidentally falling into the volcano before we win. Can we please not cut it that close?
Bayard
(28,725 posts)I don't think anybody actually likes Vance. But if the Orange Glob finally bites it, Vance could ride that outpouring of MAGAt love and grief right into the Oval like you say. Problem is he's a lot smarter than trump, and probably not as easily swayed by flattery and ring-kissing.
I totally agree that we need to immediately stock multiple weapons in our arsenal. War is coming.

(1,949 posts)Trump is a dirtbag, but he has a charisma that totally enthralls about a third of the population. (I just want to puke listening to him..)
But once Trump is gone, I don't see anyone who can take over the MAGA Cult base. We still have billionaires who have bought the government, but I doubt a Vance administration will be able to get away with as much crap as Trump.
I am looking forward to an update of the Munchkin song and the dancing in the streets.

(3,778 posts)There is no doubt Bush was smarter; by many accounts he was the real brains behind the Reagan administration, and Reagan was taken out both by term limits and Alzheimer's. Everyone obviously expected GWB to step into Reagan's shoes. He didn't come across as a disagreeable man, after all. But he just didn't have the spark. Couldn't pull it off. Gulf War notwithstanding he didn't do half the stupid shit Reagan did, but nobody cut him a millimeter of slack. I think Vance will have the same problem, only worse. Nobody likes him much, not even Trump (Reagan at least seemed to like and respect Bush). People will see right through him and even his own people won't be behind him. He'll do and get away with some shit; obviously GWB got his war and Vance will be President, but he won't get the inexplicable blank check TACO has gotten just for existing.

(1,269 posts)I know that seems to be the consensus nowadays, and he was diminished after his stroke, but he was still at least with it enough not to compromise with the Republicans in the Senate to get the Treaty of Versailles ratified (even with Edith begging him to) when he probably should have. If Wilson's inner circle had its way, he would have agreed to Lodge's amendments. He also had a few other key decisions his last 18 months in office and even thought about running for a 3rd term (his closest advisors were trying to figure out how to tell him no - Wilson eventually came to terms with that on his own).
Wilson definitely had the starch taken out of him by the stroke, but he wasn't a Weekend at Bernie's type thing.

but he definitely as frontotemporal dementia. If he starts to lose his ability to speak at all, stares into space, and drools uncontrollably, then Ill believe it. (Had an elderly customer for several years with definite Parkinsons, and his wife basically nudged him around the store as he shuffled, focused on nothing that I could tell, and drooled the whole time. I felt badly for his wife because she obviously couldnt even escape for an afternoon to shop and have any kind of respite from the need to watch over him 24/7.)
The real question is what the real powers that be behind the scenes are planning to do when he takes his last nosedive. I dont really think Couchfucker is their planned replacement. Perhaps they think they will have dismantled this government completely by that time.
And yesthe sooner he keels over for good, the better. Gods, Im so sick of doomscrolling every day because of this arsehole.

(1,461 posts)Convicted criminal, career money launderer, Russian asset, master grifter, and reputed mobster, Donald "StinkyDollHands" Trump (P01135809), the Worst President in United States History, surprisingly died of complications due to a combination of an abrupt guilty conscience and terminal moral bankruptcy on [Date] at the age of [Age]. Trump's normally bloated, morbidly obese, lifeless body, found by his then, male odor wife, Malaria, was slumped over his fabled Gold-plated toilet, and dressed in what appeared to be WWII-era German Lederhosen. His hands were still desperately clutching a first edition, autographed copy of Mein Kampf. . Trump's death truly marked the end of a criminalized, tumultuous and polarizing era/error in American politics.
.
Donald J. Trump's Epitaph:
.
There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile,
.
He found a crooked sixpence against a crooked stile;
.
He wed a pornstar cat that caught a crooked rat,
.
And they all lived together in a little crooked shack.

(1,461 posts)Vultures will scavenge the body of a dead vulture, especially if food is scarce. While many vultures rely on their keen sense of smell or sight to locate carrion from other species, they are opportunistic and will not usually pass up a readily available food sourceincluding one of their own species.
Cannibalism among vultures has been documented, though it's relatively uncommon and typically occurs under extreme conditions, such as starvation or overcompetition. Some factors that make vulture carcasses less desirable include:
Tough, dry skin (especially if desiccated)
Potential presence of disease
Lower fat content compared to mammalian prey
Still, if the body is fresh and other food sources are lacking, vulturesespecially species like black vultureshave been observed feeding on conspecifics.

Vance has a problem - his wife. And those racists aren't going to be able to stand it. Think.like a magat. He'll never have the fealty from the cult.
