If a career prosecutor can be fired without reason, fear may seep into the decisions of those who remain. Do not let that happen. Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought. Instead of fear, let this moment fuel the fire that already burns at the heart of this place. A fire of righteous indignation at abuses of power. Of commitment to seek justice for victims. Of dedication to truth above all else. --Maurene Comey

Marjorie Taylor Greene says that her office has been contacted more about the Epstein files than any other issue. I feel safe in saying that the vast majority of those contacts if not all have come from members of the maga cult. It is likely that other maga politicians in the House and Senate are hearing from cult members, too. Now it is our turn.
We need to be contacting our elected officials. This includes your representatives, Democrats and republicans alike. We need to be communicating specific messages. Granted, it may be a more detailed message to those in our party. For example, we should say, No pardon for Maxwell to members of both parties, while requesting that Democrats call on Maurene Comey to testify in public. Since she was the federal prosecutor in the Maxwell case, she would know the most about the case.
There are three easy ways to contact representatives in DC. These include phone calls, e-mails, and snail mail. A simple message saying no pardon can be sent on a postcard. An e-mail can focus more on the specific Epstein/Maxwell files that need to be made public. A phone call can explain why those files are needed. This makes clear that we will not be distracted by nonsense about grand jury transcripts.
What do we want? Let's make a list:
No pardon.
Open the Palm Beach, Florida documents from their 2005 investigation of Epstein and Maxwell.
Call Alex Acosta to testify about who told him that Epstein was intelligence, and how that impacted his decision-making in the case.
Open all of the files from the FBI investigations of Epstein and Maxwell.
Open the files from the Southern District of New York and the New York City police department.
Request that they make a public statement advocating for a full disclosure.
Some of you are experienced in contacting your elected representatives. You know the drill. Please get drilling. For others, it may feel mildly uncomfortable at first. But once you get started, it feels good. Tell your family and friends to take this simple step. Shake the dust off your sneakers if Eeyore says, That does no good. It is covered in Amendment 1. It is there for a reason. Like voting, it does good. Not doing these things is the only thing that does no good.
If someone says the House is on vacation, remind them that the country is not. One can still send postcards, e-mails, and leave voice messages at any time, from every where. You can do it alone, or with other like-minded people. We could even have a group of people, here on this very forum, who post about the actions they take and any responses they get.
Citizens need to insist that the cards be put on the table. We will play this winning hand.
Much appreciated!

(78,703 posts)It is interesting that podcasts are providing more information on Epstein, Maxwell, and the felon's connections than the corporate media. And considering the felon fancies himself the biggest, most powerful mob boss on the planet, I think it appropriate that we knee-cap him and his corrupt administration using this scandal.

When we get more of the sexual abuse of underage girls brought into proper focus, it will also bring the financial crimes that you recently posted about to the surface.

Keep the heat up
I just watched a report on Meidas Touch, with videos of crowds booing the felon. This included a WWE crowd of thousands, made up of maga cult members. The felon is wounded. Now is the time to unleash on him and expose his greatest fears.
It will get worse - they will soon turn on him it will be Maganificent.😀

(78,703 posts)said this a hundred times over the years in our discussions ..... but Rubin used to warn me that "there is nothing more dangerous than a tax-payer who finds they have been had." He told me this when we talked about the internal decay in the United States, when he correctly outlined the troubles this country would soon experience. One thing that sticks in my mind -- for Rubin was a wise human being -- was that he said when the angry tax-payers begin to let their outrage at the ones who played them, stay out of their way.
Thus, the on-going Epstein - Maxwell -- felon-in-chief provides us a unique opportunity. If MTG will support opening the files because the maga cult is demanding it, that's a good thing. As Democrats, we agree: open those files that you have all promised you would in the campaign. You republicans have been recorded saying this was essential in holding people responsible.
If, by chance, you hear your maga extended family member, neighbor, co-worker, and/or old high school friend mention Epstein, say that you agree with putting all the cards on the table. Or, as I have said to some of my old friends hypnotized by the felon, "Let's cut the mold off the block of cheese the way your granny did. That's the only way to access the good."

(24,263 posts)who post their actions. I know there's a poster in GD who posts about writing postcards and I always try to rec and kick her posts. IMHO it would even be worthwhile having a separate forum just for that.

(78,703 posts)fun, when we work with others.
I think that at least a few here remember something fun we did many years ago. Early one morning, I suggested that we contact an MSNBC "mourning" show, where one host named Mika had said some annoying thing. I called her "Mika Mouse." An unknown number of people, likely drinking coffee, began e-mailing the show. Within an hour, Joe was making "Mika Mouse" jokes. That is but one example. Just my opinion, but we should take opportunities to have some fun while doing some good in these stressful times.

(156,179 posts)Even though I know all my Representatives and both Senators are already supportive of your ideas, it can't hurt to remind them how urgent this is.
Again, I thank you.

(78,703 posts)We have a unique opportunity here. Even with the best of the Democrats in the House and Senate, we want them to be able to say that the public is insisting on learning more about the Epstein files.

(78,703 posts)Falls are no fun, and cause serious injuries. It always takes me a few days to recover from most falls, except last year when I broke ribs. So take it easy, and don't push yourself.

My to do list for today.

(78,703 posts)while walking my dog, ice broke under my feet and I fell hard. Broke my darned collar bone. I tried setting it with IcyHot tape, but it didn't heal quite right. Later, a doctor I was seeing for my back noticed it when I took my shirt off. She said I would have shoulder issues as an on-going reward for being so stupid.
