I imagine most agencies will qualify for that moniker when it's all said and done.

I know it's the Onion, but perhaps that makes it even more perfectly true. Yes, justice has been, or at least is in the process of being removed, from all of us. Whether that is the so called justice of the courts, which is being stretched to their limits. As far as the SC is concerned Justice has already been bludgeoned. Justice for immigrants is quickly being erased. There is little to no Justice for the thousands of people who lost their jobs so that Musk could play.

But even more destructive and painful is the sense that there will never be justice for the corrupt thugs who are running our government. They will most probably get away with their evil even if Democrats win enough seats to take back Congress, or even eventually the Presidency. I can't tell you exactly where it slipped away, but I realized yesterday that that deep abiding peaceful feeling of believing in justice for all, is gone.

I grew up in the 50s when those things felt real. While consciously I knew better, I always sort of thought it might be true. Now, that deep sense of everything being ok because justice would win out is gone. My "older" brain knew it wasn't true, but my childish sense of things being right in the world because of justice felt safe.

Today I am glad I’m in my 70s and not in my 30s. We’ve had a good run. I hope we alter course so the youngins can enjoy living in this country for many years. I know many suffer regardless of who is in government but we are now in a position where most will suffer because of intentional change not for the good.
