4. Didn't a court recently rule that there is no "invasion"?

It will be appealed of course, but I don’t see anything but a 7-2 SCOTUS ruling supporting the lower court.

5. You're Correct As To The Ruling On "No Invasion"

I also see either 7-2 or 9-0 from the MAGAT majority SCOTUS.

I am pleased to say that I do not conclude that SCOTUS will find in favor of FLOTUS (The Fucking Loser Of The United States).

It's one of many battles to come.

The orange shit-gibbon will re-litigate time and time again through exponential variations and permutations all under the color of law ad nauseum, ad infinitum.

The GOP is a wholly fascist criminal enterprise.

The wholesale destruction of anything or anyone that dare oppose their unbridled abject fascist depravity is their purpose and their creed.

Here's to the wholesale dissolution of that criminal enterprise.
Here's to the restoration of our freedoms through each iterative reasoned ruling.

Each is forward progress.
Steady as we go.

Only Congress has the power to suspend the writ of habeas corpus, either by its own affirmative actions or through an express delegation to the Executive. The Executive does not have the independent authority to suspend the writ.

I can hear the echos of the hobnails of the storm troopers' boots as they pound across the pavement in search of "enemies of Trump's state."

18. Fucking Dubya/Cheney did this to us

after 9/11 when Republicans saw a chance to strip a right from us that people from England had enjoyed since 1215. Of course, they never define their terms, nor do they consider any exemption for citizens.

Democrats, as usual, were too busy being afraid of panicky people who might vote against them to start asking the questions they shold have asked.

This should have been overturned by Obama during his first 2 years when he had a mostly friendly Congress. He knew better than to let this horror stand.

Now it will have to churn its way through an increasingly cherrypicked court system as "invasion" and "rebellion" are clearly defined to exclude peaceful people turning themselves in to ask for asylum and peaceful citizens exercising their rights to assemble and use their freee speech.

I hate the Republican Party and everything it has stood for since 1969.
