Karoline Leavitt responding to trump's crypto endeavors this morning: "I think it's frankly ridiculous that anyone in this room would even suggest that President Trump is doing anything for his own benefit He left a life of luxury and a life running a very successful real estate empire for public service."
Stupidly ridiculous and untrue, of course. But where is even the pretense that what he is doing with crypto is in the public interest? The idea is so outlandish that they don't even bother to come up with a story to try to push it to their base. And because the press room is stacked with maga influencers now, and the mainstream journalists are cowed as well, there is no follow up to this insanity.
Corporate media, you had the chance to stand up when they banned AP. You failed. You could be calling out all the maga non journalists taking your own jobs right now. You;re too scared. Soon your million dollar gigs will be gone and you'll have no one to blame but yourselves.

(30,555 posts)Turning the U.S. Treasury into a personal printing press for trump and his billionaire supporters, to enrich themselves beyond their wildest dreams. And it's all being done with minimal efforts to conceal what's happening. It would be laughable if the ultimate consequences weren't so grim.
