(2,373 posts)Mattel isn’t worried though. They’ll just monitor Signal to develop a counter plan.

Mattel is an American toy maker headquartered in El Segundo. They sell products in something like 150 countries. Trump is nuts. Someone should put that on the evidence list for a guy losing it rapidly.
Where is the Gulf of Mattel, anyway?

(2,854 posts)all along, including the MSM - sanewashing him by saying what they *think* he meant. Let's just go by what he SAYS instead of trying to somehow justify it by cleaning it up.

(5,608 posts)are doing the opposite ("insanesplaining"?). And, that's not what I "think" he meant, it's (IMO) what the probably is he meant (there is a difference). And no, I'm not trying to clean up anything that Presidense Trump says or does.

(36,998 posts)When he suggests Mattel won't sell one toy in the US. Mattel is a US company.
ETA: I found a longer clip - what he seems to be saying is that Mattel was threatening to leave the US - and if they did, he would put a 100% tariff on their toys (since they would all be imported from wherever they go) so they won't sell a single toy on the US.

(5,608 posts)And BTW, not "sanesplaining".

(36,998 posts)excerpting a statement so that it is devoid of context is just as bad in the opposite direction.
