I will say this everyday. FatAss isn't the point. It's republicans who are doing all of this period. They are to blame

Every bit of our ire should be aimed at the Republican party, not Krasnov, not Musk or anyone else. If those criminal scapegoats go the Republicans will spit out more to take their place like a broken slot machine. REPUBLICANS MUST FEEL THE HEAT for what they've done. If you want to scream about how criminal this Republican Gestapo is kidnapping people without due process, BLAME REPUBLICANS. The more we blame FatAss the more he likes it and it takes attention away from the real problem. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!!

They vote Republican every time because it's a generational thing. It's who there Grandparents and Parents voted for. They don't think about "who" they are voting for they've just been multi-generationally trained to not vote Democrat. I can talk issues with Krasnov with those Republicans, they are in the FAFO stage. But my exchanges are quite heated now because I've moved on to their party not him. And I tell them if they want to really be "Republicans" they better kick the MAGA crowd to the street. I've gotten flak from friends who say we can't get their votes if we speak to them that way. Fuck that. I don't want their votes. I want them to do what's right for the country. To be a true Patriot. FIX THEIR PARTY. Unfortunately its a necessary evil. But it has become tyrannical.

My goal is to get them to decide if they want to do the right thing or not.

Do they want to save their country, democracy, freedom?
Or do they want to live in an impoverished dictatorship, like Russia and China.

We may have to get in their faces. They are not paying attention to reality.

That is completely attributable to Donald J. (and I, personally, would go further to say that a lot of the direction and agenda are really driven by a singular figure in the White House as well) In short - a Republican administration with a different person at the helm - would in all likelihood look (and feel) significantly different from what we experience today.
It is a mistake to minimize what Trump has done to the party.

Sure, many of them are just fools, but many calculate their future as being a part of his team. Without their compliance, they believe they have nothing. So, they feel they are better off supporting him, regardless of the cost to the nation.
The Republicans in Congress are every bit as evil, greedy, and callous as Trump. They'll watch the nation fall to ruin as long as they believe they can rise above the ashes of what used to be a Great Nation.

It is republicans, REPUBLICANS, pure and simple. The whole fucking lot of them! In elected offices, in the public, in the media. They have been against dark skin, free thinking, intelligent people, and FREEDOM ITSELF, for as long as I can remember....and I am pretty old, so I fucking remember way back! They represent repression, greed, hate and control.

We marched in the 60's for civil rights, voting rights, the environment, women's rights, abortion rights (which affects the lives of both sexes!!!) and many many people were killed (think Ohio and southern lynchings), and had their heads busted (think '68 democratic convention and equal rights), and we marched against wars-for-money (think Vietnam).

Democrats, and liberals in particular, have been on the right side of every issue that supports LIFE, while republicans have sought to destroy not just life itself, but especially quality of life.

Both need their feet held to the fire. When the name "Trump" is mentioned in any news story or on a program it should ALWAYS lead with some version of "and Elected Republicans in Washington" or "the Republican officials", etc.

I believe he has an important hand in this and isn't just a face. He's had decades of practice and has taught them a thing or two and they are running with it. Never apologize (though a lot of them know this already but he is the main catalyst), he lives and breathes loopholes like no one else. He lies his way through every problem and doesn't care what others think unless it's someone he sees as useful.
I'm sure there are multitudes of other examples. Some we may know about, others we may not.

Thu May 8, 2025, 12:21 PM

I've said all along - he's a common type. He only attracts attention and followers because they think the money he first inherited, then began stealing with broken contracts and fake charities, and now extorts in exchange for 'access to power', proves he's some kind of authority. Also, he validates their hate and gives them permission to act on it.

Every bar has one (with a lot less money). No bar wants to see him come in because nobody will sit within 5 stools of him. He's the crazy guy, world's greatest authority, racist, misogynistic (hates all of humanity, actually, including his followers), and bitter because nobody will recognize how entitled he is. No one can ever admire him enough. He smells bad. He starts fights. And he never shuts up.

He'd actually be at that bar, if it weren't for the people who prop him up for their own purposes. They give him the money. They keep the spotlight on him, let him spew his hate, sane-wash the idiocies and rambling, make sure he gets away with talking out of his filthy ass like a called-upon student who didn't bother to read the assignment. The money and the power are all theirs; they're just letting him use it until he no longer serves their purpose. When he doesn't, he's going to be the most surprised man on the face of this earth. He has no idea how fast it can all disappear.

And the real powerbrokers will walk away and lie in wait for the next one.

If the U.S. Senate had been composed of our "Parent's Old Guard" Republican Party members, they would have impeached him in January 2017, before he even got to move in to the White House..........

I have often wondered if these Republican Politicians have kids or grandkids. Or if it is just that they just care about themselves.
I think that they have more than proven it is the latter.......

Starting with the corrupt "installation" of WBush in 2000 by the Cheney/Rumsfeld CABAL, I started shedding all Republican family members and all Republican friends and associates....I had only ONE remaining in 2016, and I promptly threw that person out of my life also...........

been saying this very thing since before 9/11, in fact since 12/12/00 when SCOTUS (read: scalia) handed W the presidency.

but it goes back much further than those linked events. tho it's the party of abe, every prez since him (save maybe ike) has represented the interests of the business class over the workers. and they've known since abe that giving any power to workers (esp slaves/POCs), would diminish their own power in running ruling (ruIning?) the country.

saint ronny (a B grade actor chosen mainly for his TV public appeal than his political acumen; the first of such R puppets) grabbed that agenda and ran with it, during which time newt turned the generally collegial congress into a boxing ring, and leonard leo packed the courts with conservatives, SCOTUS with conservative catholics. that trajectory tracks with the decline in the middle class, and inversely with the wealth gap.

driving such a mindless power grab is the mindset that goes with it: pompous entitlement, lack of empathy, militancy, duplicity, greed, and an increasing capacity for cruelty. all these set the stage for where we are now, awash in racism, misogyny, and authoritarianism.

so yes indeed, this IS a time of reckoning. and with that capacity for fascism -- matched it must be said by this country's principle's capacity for generosity, creativity, compassion, and invention -- the demand is incredibly high for each and all of us to recognize and own our collective responsibility in the extensive suffering our deep faults have levied on the country and the planet.

The MAGA Republicans are enabling it, and the rest, whether through cowardice, thinking they can cash in or that they really want a fascist dictatorship, could stop it, but they won't.

On the other hand, we could have stopped this too, through timely action in the courts or by taking on the MAGATS while we still had the power and the military.

I think that many on our side have never truly understood what we have been dealing with all this time.
