It really is a cult

Today I drove by a house with a US flag on a flagpole with an image of Trump superimposed in the flag. Who does that. Who waves a flag with the presidents face on it. Could you image if we had Biden or Obama flags. It is ridiculous. It is what cult members do. They don’t support the Republican Party, they support Trump. Think about it, if Trump were to switch to the Democratic Party all the MAGAts would vote Democratic. The Republican Party clearly understands this. This is what we are up against.

2. I have a neighbor that still flies a Trump flag and has one

of those big banners (about 3X5) on his fence that says "This is Trump Country". We even have a local quickstop type store that has Trump sign in the window.

It't weird but this is rural Texas - and I agree it is a cult. A cult of people that honestly, I think, are from a different planet or maybe even genetically different species. I know people say we have to talk/relate to them - but no thank you.

offers what sounds like excellent advice for talking with people in the cult. Lucky for me, I live in an area where the only MAGA hat I ever saw was on someone obviously visiting from elsewhere and it wasn't in a situation that allowed for talking. He was in a line at the P.O.

and consider anything else fake news.
The way to deal with this is to ask: do they ever hear anything negative about Trump or Republicans on their news?
They will answer that the other news channels never say anything good. SO, find a positive news story or two on a real news outlet and show them. Also note that real news (what they call fake) actually criticizes Democrats like Pres. Biden when merited (show them an article or 2)-- and that's the difference.

Proud that their president is willing to even empty out stores and make life hard for everyone so that the future will be amazingly wonderful. He’s making a true sacrifice to help the country.

The fact that he and his cronies are billionaires and won’t have to sacrifice anything won’t occur to them. They only think what he tells them to think.

Also they are used to this way of thinking: Life on earth is hard now but will be wonderful forever once you pass the suffering and die.
