Why is Trump obsessed about taking children away from their parents?

Last edited Fri May 2, 2025, 01:26 PM - Edit history (1)

We saw this in his first term. The deliberate kidnapping of children from their parents.
The deliberate separation of children from their mothers.

I think this goes back to Trump's childhood.
His mother was reportedly ill and in and out of hospitals when he was a child.
(Perhaps she was mentally ill or wanted to get away from her abusive husband.)

Trump was left in the care of a sister, only a child herself.
Or left to the care of servants. Trump's father is said to have not hired a nanny for the children?
So who knows what happened to these kids?
And Trump's father was abusive.

This is the source I believe of Trump's rage and anger.
His anger at his mother for abandoning him.
Which he keeps acting out over and over.

We see this in his hatred of women.
Raping women, disrespecting them.
And then acting out the abandonment from this own childhood over and over
in his immigrant policies.

We see a mentally ill President of the United States acting out his psychopathology
over and over.

ETA: The point I am making is that Trump could have used many methods
to terrify people and make them docile and compliant like all dictators do.
But why does he keep going back to the specific trauma of kidnapping children from parents?

without physically torturing them. It might be because of a shitty childhood, but lots of people have shitty childhoods and still manage to grow up to be decent human beings. I don't know exactly what's wrong with him, but I do know that he really likes hurting people.

Yes of course, other children suffer far worse and don't end up
being serial killers, rapists, kidnappers.

Yes I have been saying for some time that Trump is a sexual sadist.
He gets off on torturing others.

Stephen Miller, on the other hand, is a Sado-Fascist who I’m sure delights in the misery Trump allows him to inflict upon others.

Trump has delegated almost all foreign policy, trade, and immigration decisions to Miller.

If Musk is the co-president for domestic/budget issues, Miller is the co-president for everything else.

As much as I hold Trump responsible for all that happens and as much a sociopath as any in the WH, a lot of it might well not happen/might NOT have happened without Stephen Miller. He is now his Deputy COS and has both constant access and power and TSF apparently trusts him. Most of us know that he is a NAZI-level psychopath and totally drunk on his power. Just look at his super-aggressive press bits. My GAWD, he's like a rabid animal from the first word out of his mouth. Trump still tries to come across as "likeable" in at least some settings. Miller doesn't give a shit about that...

My assessment... Others may differ...

We can see this in how he premeditated the SAs against EJC and Stormy.
He planned it carefully to set them up and trap them, back them into a corner.
He loves it.

Blaming all of this on Stephen Miller is missing the fact Trump is a ruthless vicious psychopath.
Who loves torturing others.

Personally, I think he likes it because separation from their parents makes children vulnerable. Vulnerable to sexual assault, for sure; and we know he grooves on that kind of nauseating evil. He can live out his fantasies of child-rape either personally or vicariously. But I'm not enough of a believer in the "he's just a poor lonely child" narrative to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Trump is a vicious, ruthless, sadistic psychopath.
He will rape, kill, steal, rob anyone at anytime for personal benefit.
He will destroy the US for his personal gain and enjoyment.

He is a monster in laymen's terms.

What I am doing is similar to what the FBI psychologists do when explaining
why serial killers commit their specific crimes. And can predict future behavior.
It is how the FBI can track and arrest killers.

fantasy. Joking, of course.

Seriously, he's flat-out cruel -- recall how he treated his brother Fred Jr. (Mary's dad). He's always been cruel because he believes that he "wins" if he's meaner than everybody else. It explains why so many of his acolytes are drawn to him -- Miller, MTG, Noem, Bondi, Kari Lake. They're mean, nasty bullies, too. When he's being nice it's nothing more than an act.
