(52,972 posts)I read he would be in the 3rd row. I guess it's sort of like trying to seat all the Academy Awards celebrities....lots of egos need to be addressed in order to seat them.

BigmanPigman
(52,972 posts)He shouldn't even have been given a seat unless it was at the "kiddie table" in a different room. That would match his mental maturity...a 6 hear old, maybe even a 4 year old.

Ms. Toad
(36,851 posts)Leading to speculation Trump was throwing his weight around. But that seating order was not what was used. Heads of states were in the first row, alphabetically according to their French names. I think the Catholic dignitaries may have been front row in a different side.

He wore a blue suit. Not a terrible slight but noticeable where he was seated. Unique where he was seated, even.
Broader crowd view shows more blue suits.
They didn't do him any favors. Made him look like an asshole outlier.

(36,851 posts)State leaders were seated in the first row, with Argentina first, and Italy second (for obvious reasons). After that, they were seated alphabetically, using their French names. In French, the United States begins with an E. Pretty close to the beginning of the alphabet.
niyad
(123,627 posts)but in the third row. Crowned heads, etc, first and second rows.

I was writing essentially the same thing, but a few minutes behind you.

(16,397 posts)There were plenty of other presidents in the front row other than Trump. They were arranged alphabetically (except for Argentina and Italy), by their country's French names ( e.g., "États-Unis", not "United States" ). Trump was seated with Estonia and Spain (Espagne) on one side of him and Finland and France on the other. The Spanish head (heads?) of state is royalty, the other three I mentioned are presidents.
