Another reason to tell Amazon to cram it. Amazon revokes the concept of owning Kindle books.

I don't Kindle, but I know several people who do.

You've got 5 days to download any books that you didn't store on your computer before downloads are disabled.

…and got an iPad, I never looked back.

All my Kindle books were from Amazon’s free stash, because I just didn’t trust the medium. I knew that it was in essence a rental scheme.

2. I think I don't understand -- can't you still download books? You just can't do it via either wi-fi or usb.

If you can, I would recommend watching his whole video. There is even more in there that is pretty upsetting. Like how they are editing Roald Dahl books and what that means. Also that buying a book online may now be like a streaming subscription. He uses an example of a technical book that allows you to buy the book at different rates but you have to read the fine print (basically) for what "Lifetime" means when buying it. It can be 5 years or even as little as 1 day. The book he was looking at for a lifetime was over $100.00.

6. Thank you! I will watch. Re Roald Dahl, his publisher was "updating" the books recently and upset a lot of readers,

while others found the revisions sensitive.

I need to find a way to retrieve my Audible, too. I’ve sworn off both but would like to salvage what I can.

Who already get screwed by Amazon. They pay me 30 to 40 cents every time someone reads a ten dollar book. What a screw job.

This includes videos I've "bought" as well.

All in all, a few hundred titles, a lot of them magazines that Amazon stopped supporting a year or two ago.

My kindle will be dismantled and the e-paper screen used to build another device.

I don't need Jeff Bezos reading over my shoulder and selling that info to whoever he pleases.

This is all part of my plan to participate as little as possible in the Trump economy. What money I don't spend I won't save or invest because the oligarchs control those savings and investments. Instead I'll give it to organizations that are resisting, and to groups supporting individuals who have been directly harmed by Trump Administration policies.
