I felt a shift in momentum today. Saying Ukraine started the war was even too much for some Republicans

His approval rating is now dropping, Mike Pence called him out, Musk is becoming a fiasco, inflation is starting to stick, and he looks defeated when around Musk. The armor is cracking. You can't do an effective coup if you're approval is in the low 40s. Trump doesn't like being President, it's too much work. I don't think he has the energy to follow through with something as stressful as a coup against the most diverse and powerful country on the planet. He's just going to keep lashing out at everyone he hates saying more and more disturbing things, but anything that requires real focus and planning like a coup is just too exhausting for huffy puffy, softy.

He needs to be laughed at and mocked. He is not invincible and certainly no king or emperor.

The sooner he becomes a joke, the faster his supporters will drop him.

so far I don't think any were huge supporters of his but most just seemed like people that don't pay attention to politics much.

One was the claim about 150 year old getting social security and how it just had to do with the programming. I saw comments from a few that were familiar with this that made them question everything Elon Musk is doing now.

I'm also seeing comments in non political places about people losing jobs becsuse of Trump also.

This is probably the one issue that could make Congress turn on him if he follows through with turning the U.S. away from NATO and turns his back on Ukraine. We have to call and put pressure on the Republicans and also our own Democratic representatives. It might be a longshot but we have to try.

He has company when he's rising, but he'll fall alone. People around him will say they never did like him and they tried to talk him out of it.
Elon will say he was just following orders.

if people are outraged at Musk, that undermines people's belief in Trump, and if Trump can't keep people hypnotized anymore, then the courts etc will be able to stop Musk. The nightmare scenario is that they have crooked loyalists in enough important offices that they can deflect all law enforcement and get people to carry out illegal orders or arrest people without cause, but without popular backing I don't think they'll be able to make that stick.

At this point I'll gladly accept Trump getting away with his crimes and living his final years in luxury, as long as we get Elon into a prison cell.

They've already retired him. His Overlords are in control now and calling the shots. He's doing the misdirection while Edolph guts our defenses, destabilizes our financial system and generally terrorizes the citizenry. Putin's Gremlins From The Kremlin have played the Federalist Society, and Heritage Foundation, small-c christians, right-wing media, and dumb-fucks of every stripe. We may not be getting greater anytime soon, but we are certainly weaker and more vulnerable than I can remember in seventy-four trips around the Sun.
