Anybody else felt this way for several YEARS now? I know I have.

(39,620 posts)like it or not. That's just the start.
People can't help protect and defend the Constitution when they don't clearly see and name its enemies.
Now that the richest of parasitic oligarchs is out in the open -- stolen data, money, personnel expertise, all done to get TAX CUT enrichment for the greedy rest who don't even need it -- we must stop their bad trade deal (we give up our freedoms for security) by any means necessary.

(8,074 posts)to itself to purge moderates and normal republicans such as Kinzinger is exactly what they are doing to the fed govt including the courts and dept of justice. MSM and big tech appear to be falling all over themselves to do the same.
This is a once-in-several-generations sea change....domestically and globally.
One can think of many reasons why they are doing this. More efficient government, better quality of life for Americans, safer global dynamics, election integrity, and healthy world are not among the reasons IMHO.

(2,407 posts)Even if the things he wants isn't awful it's still wrong to pressure people this way. We shouldn't let people like this dictate our communities.

(357 posts)... this is not new in American History, there have often been, and still are, two-sided laws, favoritism, and, an unequal distribution of justice.
Today's is simply more blatant.

(12,678 posts)to declare the orange convict a domestic enemy as used in those oaths. If someone has tried to use their oath I must have missed it in the news cycle. I would think that a motion like domestic enemy would get noticed.

Im an old man, but I refuse to ever be governed by fascists, and I will do whatever I can to protect my children and grandchildren from that fate. I come from a Navy town, and I grew up in neighborhoods populated with wounded and crippled veterans who fought fascists in Europe, and their stories left a bad taste in my mouth which still lingers to this day..

(578 posts)We probably still have a bunch of Democrats that think that sometime the Republicans are going to start doing the right thing and theyre not you gotta start fighting back

(5,151 posts)But, not knowing if our senate will be able to stop the raid on my sole source of earned income, I can't contribute any more right now. Every penny counts for many of us.
And I am not overly pleased with some of the votes cast to confirm several obviously unqualified people to the cabinet of outlaws.
As far as different sets of laws, depending on who supports the coup and who doesn't, I fail to see that ANY laws apply to the coup supporters and participants. There is NO law applied to whatever they want to do. Odd, in a nation with so many lawyers, that we suddenly have no laws, only limits on people who actually observe the laws.

(73,262 posts)... foreign interference in our elections or government any more, as the new Director of National Intelligence
is a proven Russian asset, Elon Musk who helped to rig the election (Trump, Musk was very good with those
vote counting computers) is taking over our Government, and installing new people or his AI "stuff" so as to
be loyal to the Fascist dictator in the White House. The rule of law has gone away a long time ago. Reality
Winner got 5 years for one stolen document (which was warning about Russian attacks on America) but
Trump with thousands of stolen top secret documents that had a high speed copier next to them so that
Russian and Chinese agents could make copies of our nations's top secrets and nothing is gonna happen
to Trump @ all.
Rule of law Sen. Murphy?
Justice matters.
(7,909 posts)presented to them by prosecutors in a due-process trial that resulted in the accused felon being rightfully punished for his felonies exactly like his co-conspirators turned witnesses under oath were punished to prison sentences... uh... NOPE!!
Major DUH... and instead of being rightfully punished, the malicious criminal posts pictures of himself with a golden CROWN on top of his empty head for the Historians of the future to ask themselves like "what the awful F?"
