Laminectomy check and done! I had the

surgery a week ago. When I woke up, I had NO pain. The terrible pain in my hips and legs that had plagued me for months (actually years) was completely gone. All I had was soreness from the incision that went away with Tylenol. I'm starting to learn to walk again. This surgery was life changing. I just celebrated my 79th birthday.

I’m 78. Wish I had the guts to have a facelift because physically I feel like I’m 40. Ok, correction… wish I had the MONEY to get a face lift.
Anyway, congratulations and have some great adventures on your new hips and legs!

....like the citizens of so many other countries. I just started Medicare and was putting off so many visits to the doctor because of America's (republicans actually) hatred for its own citizens. Best of luck in your continued and hopefully quick recovery

My pain was never in my back, but was referred to my right leg. At the time I realized that I had never really known what pain was. Mine was a back injury from work, picking orders in a food warehouse with no cases generally more that 40 lbs.
I spent 1 night in the hospital and went home the next day with a bottle of hydrocodone for pain which I never had (within the next year I threw away the unopened bottle). My surgery was on February 2nd, and within 2 days I was walking a mile (when I had the staples removed and told that to the nurse she said, "Who told you that you could do that?&quot I walked and walked further as long as I had no pain and I never did. My scar has long faded away.
Congratulations on the success of your laminectomy.

Been getting periodic epidural injections that give temporary relief, usually a couple of months. Looking for a more permanent fix I am awaiting an appointment for the M.I.L.D. procedure. I'd be interested if anyone on this thread has experience with it.
Sciatica is hell. Glad you found relief. Hope Im do too.

At one point I was considering kyphoplasty after a compression fracture, but my surgeon disappeared. I'm glad I didn't do it now as there are significant risks and it can actually cause more harm than good. My pain was pretty bad but not bad enough to warrant that, for some it gets rid of the pain immediately. Mine improved over several months but my back/spine will never be the same. I'm a lot more cautious now.
