USAiD does much more than just put food in people’s mouths. It gives us credibility in strategic regions. You can be sure that China and Russia will step in to fill the void left by this elimination. I think all of this is laser focused on gaining the political leverage for force his $50+ billion compensation package with Tesla reinstated.

He's doing what Trump's base wants to endear himself to them. That way when he publicly asks for the overturn of the court case that stripped his compensation package away, Trump is forced to pull the strings to make it happen, or risk a split in his supporters.
