Two good points from Ron Filipkowski on BlueSky

"The silence of most Republican members of Congress on the Trump tarffs tells you two things:
1. They know it is a terrible idea.
2. They are so afraid of Trump that they won't say anything even though they know how much it is going to hurt their constituents and the country."

Hard to argue with, isn't it? All the more reason the Dems need to be hitting the ground running with good messaging NOW.

Funny how this works. Only Dems get elected as one party and almost immediately begin behaving like the other party or just abruptly switch parties. Seems to me something is smelling "off" here...

It would take only a small number of them to put a stop to it.

- Future elections/primaries won't matter if America falls.

- They have the power to pull the brakes on a lot of this destruction

- Don't confirm incompetents and saboteurs. Vote no.

- Once a few more speak up, others will follow.

- Republicans. Be heroes - Save America.

have an unofficial panel of their best communicators and give a scheduled daily presser on the atrocities being committed in plain sight and what they mean to citizens. These pressures should be fairly short and to the point and in language folks can understand…Unfortunately, these concepts must be broken down for a lot of Americans to grasp.

And literally go to these offices, like the Treasury, and demand answers. Make a spectacle of it with cameras and everything. Post it online if it doesn't make the news.

They need to learn how to brand things so that they are memorable.

I know some of them must have younger people on their staff. Are they just ignoring them and going with what they know? What do all of those Democratic consultants get paid to do after the election?

There is a kind of media blackout, like nobody is asking them to appear on their shows. Hard to get the word out if you can't get the media to broadcast.

Female staff who worked for Trump but then spoke out against him got
many rape threats by GOP congressmen.

So political threats and physical threats.

They are being forced into a choice between opposing TSF, or waiting until TSF shit hits their fan. Waiting for the latter makes them look like they’re complicit or idiots. I’d go with the former.
