It's pretty obvious that he is goading the Dems to agree to raise the limit ceiling but not freezing funding, which is illegal. So he will tell the Dems that he will restore all funding if they vote to raise the debt ceiling.
In other words, he will ask them to do something that was already law. Taking away something and giving it back and then declaring victory! Please tell me the Dems won't go for this??

(35,214 posts)Soviet (Stalin) Press. Its his mentor, after all. Work all of the angles. Flood the zone with chaos until something gives and go with that. Never let a horrific crisis go unexploited. Manufacture a crisis if you need one.
Its, of course, a very inefficient and costly strategy which played a role in the fall of the Soviet Union. (SEE: Chernobyl) Its inherently unsustainable. Because nobody ever goes back to fix anything theyve broken. It does get results in the short term and thats all the goons using it care about.
What you say is true. A trap to force the Democrats to the table to get the debt limit increased. Also, another scenario, The High Maintenance Mussolinis henchmen (hes too busy golfing and jetting) may be trying to incite a protest allowing them to invoke the Insurrection Act and Martial Law.
Theres many plans afoot and all of them may be true. Simultaneously. The course of how this goes is in the choices the Democrats make.
My only advice is to play out every scenario three moves from the present. Like chess.

(20,767 posts)Hopefully our Dems will solidly blockade every move he tries to make, and then hit every interview show they can to explain what exactly trump is trying to do and why it's important that they try to stop him from gaining ANY leeway in his plans.

'I learned it from you, Dad!...I learned it from watching YOU.'
