There's no reason why DU should go wild and start believing things that aren't true. Everyone needs to slow down on this. There are probably other things to get worked up on but this is not one of them. Screw the jerk that started the Rumor.
Reuters fact check calls it misleading.
"The $35 insulin co-pay cap for certain Medicare plans is a provision in the Inflation Reduction Act and is not affected by President Trump’s reversal of a previous Biden executive order on prescription drug costs."

That is exactly the case but it sadly does not stop the FUD spreaders. Case in point, the insulin cap rumor was debunked here a day or two ago (in response to an OP claiming it was true) but that did not stop others from supporting & repeating it and, even IIRC complementing the OP as his/her post was apparently picked up by some politician or news outlet which in turn was portrayed here as a kudo for DU.

We have to do better than this or we will become our own worst enemies IMO.

The trick I guess is figuring out which sources are reliable and which are not - not admittedly an easy task these days what with the whorification of the MSM and the onslaught of republican propaganda.

I debunked it in the thread - and yes, the OP in that thread was apparently quoted outside DU. The OP edited their post, but I assume the edit was after it was picked up by outside reporters.

The chaos is intentional and, as near as I can tell, it is being made worse by people who are afraid to cross Trump - and who are interpreting his orders more broadly than they are written. Like shutting off portals to HUD and Medicaid. Then our side, rather than reporting the facts, say things like he's terminated SNAP. He ended HUD. He took the price cap off insulin. Etc.

It is going to take months to sort out and effectively challenge all of the stuff he is doing that he has no authority to do - without having to fight all of the petrifying disinformation being spread as the gospel truth because it confirms our biases.

Thank you everyone for agreeing with me. There are credible sources out there. OPs need to be more diligent. I'm a part of this group to not go beserk over every little thing . I trust AP network news and Reuters.
