(10,718 posts)To reply 'yes to all' to his stupid email, and then not show up to work monday?.
Basically a 'paid' general strike like that, and that dumb fucker would be impeached in less than 60 days.
And don't think that after it's all done and those peeps are back to work, that they wouldn't get back pay, we both know that would get handled.
Talk about rope to hang yourself with lol...

(14,876 posts)Flight attendants did that when Mgmt got sticky. They would only strike ONE airline, resolve and then strike another. wash rinse and repeat.

Ask (former) Twitter employees how Musk treated them.

(7,283 posts)Who's going to pay for this? Trump has no money to do this, or ability to allocate money for this.
It's a typical Trump sucker deal.
SickOfTheOnePct
(7,591 posts)But no additional money has to be allocated; IF its real, people who accept would be placed on paid admin leave, which comes out of the money allocated for civilian pay.
The savings would come in FY26 when those positions are eliminated .
InstantGratification
(293 posts)No one pays, because like so many other things in Trump world, they are calling this something it isn't. This isn't a "buy out". No one is being offered a payment to leave. If they accept this offer, they agree to resign at the end of the fiscal year, in return they would be allowed to continue to work remotely until then at the same pay and benefits level they are at now, no extra incentives at all.* Plus, since they will be quitting instead of being fired, no unemployment.
* One post on bsky said there is a clause in the agreement that says the gov can move up the effective date of the resignation at their option. You could accept this offer this week and find yourself unemployed next week! How very generous of Leon Muskrat to offer this incredible plan.
spooky3
(36,746 posts)But part of it said or implied that no work was required between the notice date and the end of the FY. Just more sloppy BS.

Is there a sane soul who would believe anything he says?
Has pure logic gone mad in this world?????

(17,181 posts)My department is very well aware of this craziness and the majority of people affected by this will RESIST. In fact, most that I have spoken with quietly (obviously) have absolutely no plans to take this "payout" .
This will go down as a major embarrassment for Trump.

"The President has no authority to make that offer. There's no budget line item to pay people who are not showing up for work...If you accept that offer and resign, he'll stiff you..."
SickOfTheOnePct
(7,591 posts)would be the civilian pay line, as anyone who takes it would be put on paid admin leave. Its the same money they would be paid if they were working, but they would be at home.
Im not eligible as Im in the DoD, and I dont trust Trump in any way, shape, or form, but by using admin leave as mechanism to pay, no new appropriations would be required.

(6,808 posts)Or just got another job lined up.
Happened to a former manager and my previous company. He was going to announce his retirement and then the company announced severance buyouts. He got an extra six months of pay. Someone else I know already had another job lined up with a start date in about a month. She got a nice little bonus.
SickOfTheOnePct
(7,591 posts)I would take it in a heartbeat, as I plan to retire at the end of the year anyway. I would be retiring 3 months early, but sitting home and drawing pay and benefits for 8 months before that .
Alas, not eligible.
