This map shows how much NIH funding goes to your state. I used the info on my state when I called officials to ask them to push back against the freeze. And if I can do it when my senators are Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville...well, I mean...

This the ammo each of us needs to call our senators. Good grief, the NIH funding per state is staggering. No wonder rethugs want to steal funding to pay for their tax cuts.

Just try telling me this isn’t a swipe at the Golden State.

Good map. One thing it doesn’t capture, though. It doesn’t really give a sense of how this funding ripples through the US as a whole. It also doesn’t capture the steady increases in QoL and SoL the NIH has provided over the time it has been in operation.

The next time a dumbassed MAGAt makes a tired flippant quip about basic research. I’m going to backhand them across the room.
