Something you don't see everyday

Walked the pup down to the windfarm today. It's a small installation - only six turbines. Major work going on at the second turbine and the guys saw me taking photos and waved!

But there is hard pushback with fossil fuel propaganda about how loud they are and they kill birds and they’re hard to get rid of and they ruin the skyline and on and on. And there is the property rights angle. If a property owner wants to put one on their property and get paid for it so be it. That’s also been somewhat opposed by those who thump the constitution. Irony? What the fuck? However they produce at least 40% of the electricity in the state.

And surrounded by sanctuaries, wetlands complete with bird hides. We have a few endangered birds here but no problems with the turbines.

Noise? You can barely hear them unless you are standing directly underneath and it's a gentle whoosh-whoosh sound. I'll tell you what ruins the skyline even more - acres of burnt and scorched earth from the result of fossil fuels.

Fossil fuel folks can amplify imaginary sound in their propaganda. Factual? Irrelevant to them. I have no dog in the fight but I’m amazed at the battle lines drawn. And the anti windmill folks are losing.

Looks spectacular. What's the machine in the middle? A device for picking cotton?

Thanks for posting.

But couldn't reconcile the oil with the white cotton. Ya live and learn.

Taken on Dec 26, 2019. Cotton was already harvested in this pic.
