He started in even earlier this time, virtually after the day he "won" the election. The name of the game is to keep the population cowed, petrified and unable to think straight as he consolidates his dictatorship. It ain't over til it's over, and it isn't over yet. So, he must constantly threaten, belittle, and voice his plans to eff us over. He can't keep his mouth shut. He says things that, whether true or not, makes us dizzy with outrage or disbelief.

Put one foot in front of the other. Take a deep breath. Vote true Blue. Help your neighbor. Let this be the time when American Patriots held hands in a long rainbow line of all segments of the population against the fascists. If you pray, pray he drops dead, although I didn't say that.

His themes of blaming immigrants in order to arouse xenophobia, and declaring America as a third world, decrepit country which is failing are old and has been. He could find himself arrested, along with his little cadre of evil fascists, in four years when we see as a country what THEY have done. By then, we will not be in the mood to let him walk around without an ankle bracelet and his passport in hand.

Joe Biden was one of the best, if not the best, Presidents we ever had. He did well. Trump is a convicted rapist felon who is going to try to destroy us with the help of other evil men. nation in which if you are not MAGA you are an "enemy within." That's a hell of a lot of enemies. And as a logistical and practical matter, that might not mean much if your sin was, say, donating to Kamala Harris. But the danger is that his core supporters are rabid and seem to have a lot of time on their hands. If they feel motivated and emboldened, they can create a lot of suffering and will do so under the belief (which could well be true) that they won't face consequences for hate crime, crimes against anyone they perceive to be an enemy of the new dictatorship.

I think it's rational to be a little bit frightened. Like my physics professor used to say, "A little bit of fear is a good thing." We shouldn't live our lives in fear, but we should be vigilant and use caution, at least initially until we get the lay of the land.
