Trump Threatens to Bypass GOP Congress to Unleash MAGA Plans

If anyone was expecting moderate Republicans in Congress to temper Donald Trump’s more extreme plans on immigration and tariffs, the president-elect doesn’t plan to give them the chance, Trump told lawmakers this week.

During a two-hour meeting with Senate Republicans, Trump said he plans to immediately enact his MAGA vision instead of waiting for Congress to act, according to a new report in the Wall Street Journal. He has already prepared about 100 executive orders, and he has no qualms testing the legal limits of presidential authority, he said.

For months, Trump’s aides have been looking at obscure laws passed about 50 years ago that he can invoke to unilaterally carry out his plans and bypass congressional funding limits. Instead of feeling preemptively constrained by constitutional checks and balances, he plans to do what he wants and take his chances with the courts, the Journal reported.

“The American people can bank on President Trump using his executive power on day one to deliver on the promises he made to them on the campaign trail.” Trump transition spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told the Daily Beast in a statement.

catastrophic results of the Past Robber Barrons/Gilded Age

is to read: THE GRAPES OF WRATH by Steinbeck...............

I read it in eighth grade, and I read it again two months ago........It really impressed upon me how I thought about it in 1961 vs how I think about it in 2025.............after 64 years of living, learning, and observing......
It shows how the uber rich robber barron's actions forced every one into a day by day fight to even subsist..........

That book, and several others, were required reading in my social studies class that year. The others were: Animal Farm, 1984, The Jungle, and the Ugly American........
I have re-read all of those again, in the past six months, just to give me an entirely new perspective.
For starters, I think everyone should read/re-read Animal Farm. And reflect on the Trump/RepubliCon Indoctrination these past 25-45 past years.
Most interesting was that the teacher who required us to read those books, was a devout hard core Republican. AND, he almost got fired for having us read those books..........

And, quite literally, I feel we are on the doorsteps of repeating that segment of history all over again. As someone once said:
"Those who don't learn from history, are bound to repeat it..."

No big secret either, that the RepubliCONs and Trump are going to get complete control of every last Regulatory Agency, and try to actually remove them entirely from the Government.........

The impending threat of A Revolutionary War, A Civil War, and/or a World war are looming out there.............

If it is, we can thank the corrupted SC for a guy who truly is above the law. We are only human, and there are many theories as to how we got here, but someone has to haul this guy in. It seems that only when people get personally hurt will they act. Then, it's hard not to wish the devil be upon them for inflicting pain on the rest of us. Feel it , MAGA, and see what you have done.

That said, I am not at all certain that the election wasn't stolen. We have no choice but to start now, on inauguration day, to plan for a win at the Midterms.

I am astounded at the immense numbers of absolutely rotten people that are running our lives. Ruining our lives, as some of us are older, poorer, and won't be able to manage this assault on our freedom. Eff all MAGA, and especially, eff Trump et al. You can't take death and destruction back, so I hope something bad happens to yah. I'm going to hell anyway...except, I think the next four years will be it.

I HATE who trump is, what he looks like, his ignorant spawn, every lie out of his mouth, and his gold-covered shitters, especially the one where he placed our country's classified docs. Can I pray for a monster hurricane to flatten MAL? Maybe a sinkhole...

Not sure if Congressional Dems have the legal ability to sue WHEN Traitor seizes funds that Congress has already allocated. Also untested is how willingly Congress abdicates its authority. Not looking good for this Congress desiring to stand up for itself.

I believe states would have the right to sue?

IANAL but none of this has been tested in court.
