NYT map of local election results: Weird stuff in cities

Last edited Fri Jan 17, 2025, 10:34 AM - Edit history (1)

Looking at two swing states, PA and MI, the results map showed Felon-47 gained vs. 2020 in the urban areas of Pittsburgh and Detroit. Huh??

Oh, he didn't WIN those areas, but the incremental shifts may have had something to do with him winning PA and MI. For example, some precincts in Pittsburgh where Biden beat Felon-47 by a 90-10 margin in 2020 suddenly became margins of 82-18 in 2024. This pattern repeats all over urban Pittsburgh and urban Detroit. A comparison map shows Felon-47 URBAN gains in 2024. It's worth a look by all.

Sounds like a convenient way to steal an election, eh. Add numbers here and there in precincts Felon-47 lost big and suddenly a swing state changes from D to R.

that probably manifested in some of the large cities. Detroit has a decent sized Arab population and they were unhappy with the Biden Admin.

But that doesn't explain other areas of Detroit proper.

They were able to switch them from reacting to music to react to selected Trump speeches and mythical actions. They chose videos of Biden only at his worst, of course. And they accomplished this for a relatively small amount of money by campaign spending standards.

We're losing the war for our democracy and we have to face all the ways the enemies are winning.

They stole the 2000 election and I believe they stole it in 2004 and tried to steal it in 2008. After they failed in 2008, they leaned into their other strategies. Disinformation, propaganda, lies.

We have to look at those strategies and address them. Trump made inroads with non-white voters in 2024. He got the votes of a huge majority of non-college educated people. These folks get their news online, by listening to AM radio and Fox News, and through word of mouth in their communities where groupthink sustains the alternate reality that Trump is terrific.

Trump lost ground among college educated voters and higher-income whites. (Although he still won a majority of white votes, just a little fewer.)

American voters are splitting into two groups: people who are fooled by propaganda and those who are not. Right now, the number of people being fooled is the majority.

If we don't fix that, our democracy is doomed.

Harris '24 underperformed Biden '20 in heavily African-American urban districts in swing states??? Sorry, but I'll go to my grave not believing that.

Trump made inroads with Black men. Not very much, but some. He also made inroads with Latino voters (apparently won a majority of Latino men), and it's well documented that a strong majority of Muslim Arab voters switched to Trump or third party.

On college campuses and among further left-leaning voters of all ethnicities, Harris lost ground compared to Biden in 2020 because the Israel-Palestine conflict was propagandized to the max. Nothing else matters to that group of voters. Nothing.

We're seeing the effect of blatant lies, disinformation, and propaganda.
