When exactly did everyone become

self centered ? Judging by the many excuses I'm reading why they voted for trump are, democrats have abandoned white males, Hispanic Americans, gen x y and z, LGBT people, Muslims, Blacks, older white men older white women, Jewish population, the list goes on and on. Everyone is here because of what America life can do to benefit them. Sorry if you feel slighted or ignored but the thing about America is you have the opportunity to change your lot in life. Sometimes it's up to you not the government to move you along and certainly there are ways the government can assist you in many cases but it is up to you to move forward. I look back at my life and I'm disappointed where I ended up but it was totally my fault because I let opportunities I had slip away. I made decisions that I regret certainly but I won't blame the the government or my mother because she didn't put extra cookies in my lunch every day. This is supposed to be a melting pot for anyone not just your particular group or concern maybe if we thought of us as a group of Americans then we would be better off together than apart.

Democrats value the ideals on which this country was founded and changed over the years to include all citizens—freedom, equality, and justice under the law. The notion that we have an obligation to honor democratic principles and to care not just for ourselves but to the community that is our nation. Our questions focus on what is right to do.

The Trump Party votes mostly for culture issues. Their questions focus on what’s in it for them. The religious right doesn’t really care what we believe, what they care about is making us live by their beliefs so that women become second class citizens with no rights not granted by a husband and LGBTQ+ become invisible with no rights. For those who do not want to pay their share of taxes, Trump is their man.

For those who hate minorities and want to see the US as a whites-only country, Trump gives them the satisfaction of telling them he will hurt minorities and privilege white people. He gives them the satisfaction of being allowed to hate other races openly.

For the men who want a machismo leader, Trump reinforces that men should be in charge and have the power to control the women in their lives (including sexual abuse), being the boss of the family, being a tough guy who takes no lip from anyone—the patriarchal and macho images the Republican Party has cultivated as what real men are.

For the business class, from small business owners to the tech billionaires, Trump gives them total freedom to do what they want. Labor laws will be ignored or changed, as in allowing children to work in dangerous jobs to keep wages down, and eliminating all regulations for environmental and personal safety. Personal greed motivates most of these Trump voters.

What is truly disheartening is that I knew all these people existed, I just didn’t know they had become such a majority.
