Post-election assorted thoughts. Some may make some people angry.

This is just a collection of some thoughts after the election. Some are probably outrageous and may make some people angry.

Plutocracy Pravda
Plutocracy Pravda is what I've been calling the MSM for years. Sometimes I use CorpoPravda too. It was obvious through this election how biased and distorted they were, particularly about the the issue of fitness to be president. With Putin now in charge of America through his Hitler-wannabe surrogate, now the MSM will be Pravda outright.

The Lysistrata Effect
To incel Trumpzis who can't get a date: If you adore a serial rapist, women probably won't want to date you. If you adore and almost worship the grab-'em-by-the-pussy guy, you are probably at least a wannabe rapist. If you like vile, despicable, racist, misogynist monsters, you're probably not a good candidate for a date.

Climate change
The Trump coast is target number one for hurricanes. Karma.

Spending Money
I intend to buy as little as possible from any giant companies. The fewer of my dollars that go to billionaires, the better. Not really a boycott. As much as possible, my money will go to small and local businesses.

The Good Americans
I no longer believe that Americans are generally good. When someone as evil and despicable as Trump can even be taken seriously as a candidate for local street sweeper, it means that a major proportion of the populace is depraved.

Muslims who supported the Muslim ban guy
To Michigan Muslims who supported Trump after the Muslim ban, knowing his relationship with Netanyahu, and knowing his history with brown people: Well, I still support the people of Gaza and the West Bank but, frankly, *your* opinion doesn't really matter to me. I think you're stupid.

America is done
In the future, the question will no longer be, how could the Germans have fallen for Hitler? The question will be how could the Americans have fallen for the Hitler-wannabee?

The end is coming
I'm pretty close to concluding that humanity has doomed itself and will continue until the job is finished. The unchecked greed of billionaires and billionaire corporations overrides truth, common sense, and even self preservation. We probably don't detect advanced alien civilizations because they destroy themselves. Life evolves from worms to species smart enough to destroy life and then returns their planet to worms. The end is not quite near but it's coming.

Back-door secession
When "the big one" hits California, the Republicans will screw us. They'll continue to screw blue states with the SALT tax deduction thing. They're about to really screw states and people with extreme abortion bans and all sorts of Project 2025 bullshit. I'm beginning to think that blue states should join the Republican calls for a new constitutional convention. Let them write their wingnut fantasy constitution, let enough of them ratify that they have their new constitution (and country), and then just don't ratify it. Go your own way, maybe join with other similar minded states. It seems extreme but it may be the only way for sane blue states to keep basic freedoms with Putin and the Klan Messiah running the country.

You started out here a few days after one of the "W"orst Presidents was "elected" to a 2nd term in a suspicious election, and now you're here as THE WORST President in this country's history, is about to put the finishing touches on this country's Democracy experiment.

Well thought out points.

The MSM is USELESS. I thought perhaps MSNBC was the exception, but now I realize how many hours I wasted watching them.

I had my doubts, but now I believe I may live to see at least the start, or perhaps more, of a gradual elimination of Floriduh.

I plan to curtail my spending. I concur with your idea, but also advise you to find out what you can about any local businesses you patronize. I hope to avoid any that are run by MAGA A-Holes. Hard to always know about that, but there is a small restaurant nearby that I have read on reviews is a MAGA, and has a TV with Faux on when open.

There are plenty of fine Americans, many on this very site are. Sadly, there are at least as many who have a boatload of negative traits, and outside of my business, I intend to avoid when possible, for the rest of my life.

The protestors who were unwilling to support Kamala, probably are too stupid to put 2+2 together when the candidate they supported by default or more, wipes Gaza and the people there, mostly off the map.

America deserves what it gets, and what remains will take years to recover the respect and admiration of Democracies around the world. Even those who have chosen less than admirable leaders, will feel better realizing that at least they never elected such an embarrassing buffoon as we have now done twice.

Not sure if I'll live to see the day that it all ends, as I'm 58. But honestly, after Tuesday, Bring It On. Too many of us are a blight on this planet. Present company and those reading this excluded of course. Make it quick, and all the so-called religious freaks can live to see the great rapture they've supposedly been waiting for. Doesn't Jesus have to come back to Israel first though, or some such Bullshit like that?

Could a violence less secession occur for states like CA? I guess the map doesn't have to be too messy. I'd hate to give up Nawlins', but glad that our side would get to keep the entire West Coast, New York, New York and Boston, MA. Can we have Nevada too?

I had been aware that it was coming up but with the election it kind of slipped my mind.

I agree about being aware of local businesses. If Faux is on the TV, I'm gone.

Or, in "grocery deserts", pricey alternatives such as corner stores or 7-11s (and their imitators).

Farmers' markets and the like aren't cheap either.

Dollar Tree- Family Dollar and Dollar General both have publicly traded stock.

7. No, but we can stretch our food dollars.

People waste a lot of food. I had a few months between jobs in 2021 when I could spend more time making homemade meals and I realized how far a food dollar can go. I found that a chicken (for the two of us) can be good for at least four meals (with bone broth left for the freezer). I had time to plan and use every leftover. I bought every BOGO thing I could, and kept the same supply of staple fresh vegetables around to supplement meals. We ate better and far more cheaply.

Not everyone has the luxury of time and available stores to do this, I fully get that. But grocery stores make their profits on impulse buys and packaged foods so even if you have to shop at the chains, you can still spend a lot less.

It's a good notion to curtail spending that benefits big corporations. I shop locally as much as I can anyway, but having an incentive to withdraw dollars from the market bullies that got us into this mess works for me.

I'm one boomer having a hard time dealing with that realization, because of the implications it has for any kind of recovery. My optimism that the "general goodness" of Americans would eventually win out over that bad attitude known as "conservatism" has been shattered. Now, the democratic mechanism that would allow that to happen will be shattered, too, but maybe that doesn't even matter if we're already a country willing to sell out our democracy to fascist demagoguery.
