FUD: the real reason Harris lost the election
FUD means Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.
The Trump victory on Tuesday night wasn't a spur of the moment thing. Rather, it is the result of the Republican Party and its supporters spending the last four years spreading FUD about the Democrats' agenda, the state of the United States, and the president himself.
Easy example: the southern border. It's always been a disaster. Because of many of President Biden's policies regarding border apprehension the border has been less of a shitshow than in previous years. Thanks to the GOP, many people believe the border is "open" - which it isn't - and hordes of brown-skinned people are gonna run into your house in Montana, cook up your dog and have their way with your nine-year-old daughter. Up here in Idaho we had City Council candidates running on a platform where they said they were gonna fix the southern border...which isn't exactly in the jurisdiction of the city councils in Idaho.
Another example is the price of gasoline. The only thing a president can really do to lower gas prices is to sell some of the oil in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. President Biden did that. He was attacked for selling the oil, attacked for buying new oil to replace it for cheaper than he sold the old oil - which is a good business decision - and still attacked for gas prices being too high.
The supposed mental infirmity of President Trump was also an issue in this campaign even after he dropped out of it.
The guy with the cane is definitely Trump, but...never mind that.
And then there was the ludicrous stuff, like Trump insisting that you were going to send your son to school one day and he'd come back three days later as your daughter. I mean...really? Seriously, dude? But you have people out there that really believe the school nurse has a pee-pee-choppin' kit sitting there ready to go, and they all voted for Trump. Because, you know, you don't want the school to sex-change your kid. Well, OBVIOUSLY you don't want that to happen, and no one on this side of the aisle thinks it's done - largely because it isn't. But, you know, there's always that possibility that your football hero son is gonna walk into the house and announce his name's now Loretta, and only The Almighty and Benevolent Trump can keep that from happening.
Donald Trump won this election primarily because he and the people controlling him bullshitted a majority of voters into believing that no matter how bad Trump is the Democrats are worse, and it worked.
