It's about farming and MAGAts

One of the items on the Project 2025 hitlist is many of the subsidies that farmers receive from the US Dept of Agriculture -- crop insurance, farm price supports, commodity purchases, and the like. Many/most of these stem from the Dust Bowl and Depression days when farmers were going broke by the hundreds because they could not get the price for their crops they needed to stay in business, or, the weather killed them.

Republicans have opposed these USDA subsidies, claiming they are "socialism." Funny that farm-state Republicans do not oppose these subsidies . . . I wonder why not?

Project 2025 will dramatically reduce the size of the USDA along with killing many of the subsidies programs.

A few months ago, I used Google and searched for "USDA subsidies to (my county's name) County Virginia" -- you can do this for any county. You will find a list of how much $$$ farmers in that county have received from USDA over the past 25 years. If you search deeper, you'll find more subsidies. It may be true that the numbers are not staggering and they are over a period of 25 years, I guarantee you if your famers lose any or all of these subsidies, they will go bankrupt -- some immediately, others after 2, 3, 4 years.

I wrote a letter to the editor of our local weekly paper with these details -- they did not publish it.

I'll bet about 100% of our farm families voted for Trump. Will they survive four years?

I intend to keep my eye on the USDA subsidies to my county as well as to surround rural counties. I'll also watch our local civil courts for bankruptcy proceedings, and, will watch for land transfers to see when farms go bankrupt and are sold.

So -- here's the question: Over the next four years, after a local farmer goes bankrupt and sells the farm that's been in his family for seven generations, would it be mean and heartless of me, the next time I see him in the grocery or hardware store, to remind him that he voted for Trump, that Trump killed his subsidies, and Now he's bankrupt, then, I could ROTFLMAO!!!

These goddam MAGAts just don't know what's about to hit them. That's the only consolation I have -- we have a bit of money to fall back on, we are in our 80's and will not suffer much longer from Trump and -- even if we are miserable, the goddam MAGAts will be suffering worse than I will and I will rub it in every time I hear one complain.

Heavily subsidized trump voters. F em. Hope they all go broke. My farm is going more and more organic so I'm going to be able to function better without the income supports the conventional industry relies on. I hope every one of them goes broke. I'll buy em when they do with my organic money. Tired of farming around all their damn roundup and paraquat anyway. Another pillar in my "watch it all burn down" strategy for trump 2.0.
