We've been tricked, ladies.

We believed that a competent, well-qualified, experienced woman could defeat the most morally corrupt, inept, incompetent President any of us has seen in our lifetime. But apparently the majority of American voters believe someone who is totally lacking in any of the positive qualities necessary to hold the office of President is a better choice than a woman ... any woman ... period. We've been tricked into believing that we were gaining equality. But that "equality" we gained was what we were grudgingly given by the misogynists who really run this country. They gave us the right to work - and boy have we worked. Holding down jobs and sometimes multiple jobs to support our families and pay the bills - and the men in our lives gladly took our paychecks and deposited them into the joint checking accounts that they usually controlled. They gave us the "appearance" of equality, but when the time came for us to rise up and say it's a woman's turn, we were slapped down and told that they would NEVER elect a woman President of the United States. I, for one, am done working for THEIR benefit. We've made it easier on men across this country without having gained any of the power. Oh, a woman Representative, Senator or Governor will get elected here and there. But President? No freaking way. Other countries around the globe have elected female heads of state. But the US? Not a chance. The misogynists rose up and showed us who's really in power in this country. Girl power? Woman power? It's an illusion -- an illusion created by men to make us think we have power but really designed to get as much work out of us as they can get. I quit. If they want women to take a back seat then the men can carry the financial load and we'll go back to being stay-at-home Moms and ladies who lunch. Frankly I could use the rest.

I know this probably won't happen ... women will continue to strive for equality in pay, jobs, education, etc. But can anyone name any current female figure who could possibly win against the backlash we just faced? I can't. I know I sound bitter (and probably a little unhinged) ... I've never been filled with such despair.

I watched a film she did on how Barack's presidency had affected her and her daughters (and also about how her dad acted towards her mom and the rest of their family when she was growing up and how his back was so often turned away from the family just sitting in his chair and watching TV)...

I felt sad about that and thought about my dad and so many of my uncles and other men I knew were the same way with their families...

I felt sad thinking about how many times Michelle might have felt like she needed to talk with Barack but how he would be walking off away to some important meeting or another and be just absolutely unable to talk and how after 8 years of that how sad and lonely she might have felt at times (she mentioned a bad day she had where they were all running late and how she forgot something important during a speech she gave) and still even though I know how Barack did take time to be close with her yet there had to be many times where he was just unable to...

Also in those 8 years their daughters grew up and how many times was he too busy (who knows but I'm sure he tried to make time as much as he could and I'm pretty sure his daughters know they are very much loved by both of their parents) and I don't blame him at all because he was working for us. but I also know that it took a toll on him and we saw his hair turn grey which also made me a little sad because he was so young a full of so much energy when he started his presidency...

Anyway she expressed how stressful it was and how hard it had been so I'm pretty sure she won't ever run. I'd be happy though if she ever decides to. I just don't think she ever will...

Domestic violence.
The police don't help, the system doesn't care, women's centers are nonprofit because the government won't get involved, protection orders are only pieces of paper, and yet if I kill someone in self-defense, I'm more likely to end up in prison than my abuser would spend any time in jail.

I'm sure there's other instances but this is fresh in my mind as I just went through it about 2 weeks ago. Yeah my partner got two felonies and released in 2 DAYS...
After being strangled within an inch of my life.

Now here I get to be traumatized on the rag by the news, the government, any magaz that decide that they want to run rampant and terrorize women, it's crazy and I feel like there's no boundaries anymore no safety

That’s what I want to know. As a sigma male who voted to support women, did half of women vote for him anyway?

Seriously. I’m done.

I guess the American propensity for idiotic,
self-inflicted destruction continues unabated.

It will now be like a demented cattle drive toward extinction
and the planet's ability to support life.

I really do think there is some kind of collective
death wish at work now.

I think what bothers me the most is the lack of sisterhood that was evident in how many white women were willing to put the con man in office for a second time who took Roe away from us. It feels like a massive betrayal. And that's not even considering the pathological lying, the felonies, the Jan 6 th insurrection...no decency at all in the man.

given the views on abortion according to Pew Research

https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/fact-sheet/public-opinion-on-abortion/

Obviously, I'm wrong to have believed that as women, regardless of skin color, we have a shared vulnerability in regards to our reproductive health, and need to be able to make decisions for ourselves, and that as women we deserved the collective right to make our own individual choices. My mistake was in believing the Pew data supports that. Not so, according to the election.

that's an afterthought now. We had the chance for decency and we blew it. So, here we are again.

We cannot give up; we have to fight. Cause you heard the felon say he will do whether you like it or not??? That's sounds like what he is an abuser/assaulter.

Trump, the most morally bankrupt man to ever run for the Presidency, got the support of a majority of white women and at least 47% of all women.

Misogyny? Give me a break. As a married 72-year-old (my wife is 69) I am offended by your post. I have spent my life supporting Women running for public office at all levels. Katherine Clark, Maura Healy, Elizebeth Warren, Hillary Clinton and of course, Kamala Harris, to name just a few.

I have never, in 22 years of marriage, said no to my wife for any reason. I never took a dollar from her. We have a joint credit card and she never sees the bill. I have a loving and marriage. I mention this because of your insensitive remark about husbands.

If 60% of women voted for the female Democrat running on issues important to everyone, especially women, we would have beaten Trump in a landslide both times.

If there is a gender to blame for Hillary or Kamala losing to Trump, you may be off base blaming men.

The men who said this shouldn’t happen only made women want to prove more that they could survive and thrive in a man’s world. They took jobs, mostly for less pay than a man would receive, to add to their unpaid full-time “job” of raising a family. Super Moms, working their fingers to the bone on both ends.

I have to admit to having a desire to just quit as well. It’s like Timothy Leary is whispering in my ear to “tune out”. Why contribute to a fascist society? I mean if we are going to run like the red states now, might as well get fired, go on the dole and sit around complaining about the government. When in Rome, right? What would 70M Harris voters dropping out do? Trump might have to reverse course and start importing immigrants.

52% percent of white women put the felon back into the WH, what happened to the other percent???? And regarding the numbers of people who sat this election out (which I will never understand), this had led where we are now.

We have to fight harder now, for everything what was the saying we are not going back!!!!!
I agree with that sentiment. Just my opinion.

One thing I know about my quite rowdy sons growing up is that most of the girls and women they knew would not put up with any shit what-so-ever and would punch them if they ever acted shitty towards them and it worked...
