As well as achieve the cooperation of several key white supremacist Trumper perps in the Capitol riot, about a dozen of the over 1200 so called 'foot soldiers' who were charged with crimes ranging up to Sedition for the riot leaders, which is reflected in the assertions in his latest filing about Trump bearing responsibility for the riot.
Lawrence pointed to a report last night that said the deterrent effect made any violent protest on behalf of Trump unlikely. But let's pretend that didn't happen.
The man who, on his OWN volition, hired the SC who used Garland's evidence he gathered since 2021 and ran through the myriad appeals from Giuliani and others to suppress that evidence.
Interesting how there's always zero mention in these get Garland posts about who's actually responsible for bringing indictments, and zero criticism of the judges hearing the perps appeals and challenges to evidence that took years, like unlocking Giuliani's phone, on the court's OWN lengthy scheduling,
Your actually ragging on the person responsible for the administration of the office. He's not the prosecutor, never has been, and serves to approve or reject their product, not produce it.
Moreover, the federal government relies on grand juries to recommend charges in federal prosecutions, not the AG's will and whim.
But go on and tell us what else you believe Garland's responsible for.

Maybe take some time to look at what Biden's Justice Dept. has done with him as administrator.
And maybe recognize that high profile investigations take time and are further delayed by appeals and challenges from deep pocketed defendants like Trump and several of the others who served under him who resisted testifying and withheld evidence until Garland fought successfully to get appeals judges to make them talk and turn over communications with the former president.
Nice on this subject is me taking the time to explain this to you. Get it?

(56,350 posts)None of the damaging information has been released.
I doubt it ever will.
The question is why has the DOJ and US government worked so hard
to hide all this information about Trump? Why is he so protected?
Several answers come to mind.

(154,120 posts)President Biden might also issue preemptive pardons for everyone on trump's enemy list.

(11,825 posts)I don't think the intent is to prosecute anyone, just to harass the hell out of them. Even if someone has a pardon, if charged they will spend a fortune in attorney's fees.
If the courts will allow it (and I have not confidence they will not), he might simply order the arrests of his enemies (probably on national security grounds) and hold them without charge.
My imagination has come up with a list of horrors based on what Trump said he would do.
