Thats absolutely crazy. The party dropped the ball somewhere and we probably have to go back years to see where it started.

(21,702 posts)The inflation bombardment alone was overwhelming from the media. It was non stop and still continues now when inflation is back to 2%.
Its all the media talked about for 2 years. As if we had never had a bout of inflation before.

Forget raising the Minimum Wage. Workers who voted for tRump are going to find their hours screwed with and NO Overtime pay for it. Plan on that extra $4,000 a year out of your pockets,, people! Say hello to childhood poverty, no Child tax credits, or student loan forgiveness. Say hello as well to NO Health Care through the ACA, see Social Security and Medicare cut 30%(ouch!) or more. I bet those Seniors who voted for him are excited about that!
And then factor in inflation on top of all of that!
The MAGA Health Care plan..."Don't get sick! If you get sick, DIE quickly!" Credit that to former Congressman Alan Grayson when the ACA was being debated in 2009.

(16,267 posts)Whip Inflation Now from the Nixon administration. Wage and price controls were implemented. Stagflation (stagnant economy with high inflation) brought about by Paul Volker. Mortgage interest rates 13% and more in the early 1980s.
I remember all that.
25 years ago, gas in the state was 2.60/gal. In 2024, it's 3.50/gal, a mere 90 cent rise in that time and that includes a big raise in the state's gas tax. If I drive a short distance to Ohio, it's only 20-25 cents more than in 1999.

(24,891 posts)Of all the stupid shit being tossed around, THAT is what I have heard these gullible jackasses yammer on about the most. Followed closely by immigrants criming and raping on every street in America and rampant post-birth abortion.
Three things that aren't happening, have never happened, and will never happen. The last one being something THAT DOESN'T EXIST and CANNOT LOGICALLY EXIST!!!

Merrick Garalnd dropped the ball....never prosecuted tRump and the congressional insurrectionist... That prompted MAGAS to fight for tRumps life...

Dems are fighting a complicit media that sanewashed the fuck out of him, and that says nothing about the propaganda machine that generates a loony right wing bubble.
When people can sincerely believe schools are dolling out gender reassignment surgery behind parents' backs - and they do - we're well and truly fucked.

(21,702 posts)She will end up with 14 Million less votes than Biden got in 2020.
Trump will end up with less votes than 2020!
They just convinced 10-15 million Biden voters to stay home. That is absolutely crazy. And stunning.

(4,470 posts)After all of the votes are counted, it's going to be roughly 76M votes for Trump and 73M for Harris. 2020 Was 81M to 74M. Trump picked up ~2M and Harris lost ~8M with 6M fewer voters overall.

(5,671 posts)So there is a net 28M difference (3x4) + (4x4) in potential voters since 2020.
I don't think that explains the discrepancy, but it needs to be accounted for.

(44,458 posts)Right now she is down by around 4.69 million votes. According to NBC's projections, there are as many as 15 million votes still to be tabulated nationwide, with well over half of them from states that Harris won, like California and New York. She would have to lose the remaining 15 million votes, if that number turns out to be correct, by a margin of 10 million to 5 million to fall 10 million behind. It's far more likely that she wins a majority of the uncounted ballots and cuts into Trump's 4.69 million vote lead, although she probably can completely eradicate it.
But maybe you can explain where you got your 10 million vote number from?
