I don't think even we had a young white guy at the top of the ticket the incel/bro/women haters would vote for them. There seems to be a serious backlash to the last couple years of empowering non-whites, and I say that as a white guy. I am sick.

At some point, we have to stop making excuses and just acknowledge that half the country sucks, and the media has very little to do with it.

The media has been hammering on Trump for years. We just pretend not to see it, and that intentional ignorance has gotten very tiresome.

Hitler fed on a fear and hatred of Jews. T***p feeds on the fear and hatred of the people who are not like his supporters.

As a military officer I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. That doesn't change. My focus does, however. For 20 years the enemy was foreign; now it is domestic.

I'm having a hard time coming up with other reasons, but I'm tired and not exactly rational at the moment. I think that's what this all boils down to, and it says nothing good about the country.

I don't think she could have run a better campaign, particularly in only 3.5 months.

We can blame women, and cult Republican voters', and corporate media & crypto-tech bros' fault, but somehow, other autocratic forces, not just stupid voters, were greater than we knew.

How this election will be dissected -- even how nothing but the whole truth comes out -- won't be enough to heal the body politic, even if Harris wins.

She ran an inspiring, heart warming campaign, exemplifying the noblest of character and qualities any candidate has ever shown.

The blame lies with those who embrace and revel in the exact opposite: hate, bigotry, selfishness, malice, and cruelty. And yes, even indifference.

If she goes manage to win with fewer total national vote just maybe it would motivate people to get rid of the Electoral College. Maybe elimination of Medicare and Social Security will wake us up. Being 72 years old I have enough health problems I will not survive.

Although I might have "thought I knew better" about some part of the messaging,
she hardly had time to think about it adequately---
but none-the-less had more support from members of the opposing party
than I presume has every happened in the history of presidential elections

and it all should have been "much more than enough" in any sane universe.

Ok you guys quit blaming yourselves. I have described this a few times but it seems to get yawns. Here is the deal. “Its about the guns” I work in a union shop blue collar mostly men couple of women. 20’s to 60’s The tables have gun magazines on them. The guys talk rounds and grains, velocity and rust prevention fluids cleaning. They talk new ones, cool ones. Where to go shoot, money on ammo reloading ammo. Prices and where to buy. There are shop gun experts and who has what brand. etc. On and on. The rednecks love them its a whole culture. And get this, even with the women in the shop.
For decades The NRA have taught certain trigger words and policies. Somehow the idea that any legislation is not to be accepted in any way is the normal belief and that s why we see them scoff at any kind of legislation. When Charlton Heston said pry the gun from my cold dead hands it was a call of unity and dedication to the hobby. And yes its just a hobby....Until a whako gets one. (By the way one of my coworkers braggs that he has over 50 guns and he lives with his mom.) So I cringed when Harris in her stump speech said “common sense gun laws” I knew it was a dividing statement. The same type of person who is into the gun hobby is exactly the working class grievance guy/woman that voted for Trump, Just ask me how I know.
