David Frum: This Is What a Losing Campaign Looks Like - The stink of impending defeat fills the air

“The day before Vance tweeted at me, former President Donald Trump was livestreaming to promote a dubious new cryptocurrency venture. That same day, he gave an interview to the conspiracy theorist Wayne Allyn Root in which Trump reverted to old form to denounce mail-in voting because the U.S. Postal Service could not be trusted to deliver pro-Trump votes fairly.”

“The day before that, the Secret Service had fired upon a man with a rifle near Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course. The apparent assassination attempt drove the headlines, but beneath the story was the reality that a candidate for president took a day off to golf only 50 days before Election Day.”

“Trump golfs a lot, and campaigns surprisingly infrequently. When he does campaign events, he makes odd choices of venue: Today, he will appear in New York’s Nassau County. New York State has not voted Republican for president since 1984. In 2020, Trump won 38 percent of the New York vote. Yet Trump has convinced himself, or somebody has convinced him, that this year he might be competitive in New York…”

“Rarely, if ever, has a presidential campaign collapsed from seeming assurance into utter chaos as Trump-Vance has… The stink of impending defeat fills the air—and so much of the defeat would be self-inflicted.”

of a campaign! LOL

There is no way that won't show up. Losing, failing, finger pointing, abusive little snots. they have it all! Versus Harris and The Coach kicking ass and taking names, I can't see how they stand a chance.

"...and so much of the defeat would be self-inflicted.”

Never have I heard a sweeter song!

But we must continue as the underdogs; there is NO ROOM for complacency! GOTV!

and doing the least possible and still be considered a campaign. He and his sr. staff are clearly letting opposition get under their skin, and it shows. I think his deeply flawed statements and weird appearances are beginning to trickle down into the consciousness of the apathetic- and non-voters as well.

From all appearances, they're swimming in stink.

12. TCF has no interest in winning the job, he's already committed himself to an insurrection.

He's promised Putin to destroy us, starting with a civil war, and that's 100% why he's not trying harder to win anyone's vote. That is the only thing that tracks with his behavior.

13. There IS a reason for Trump to campaign in New York, to attempt to

shore up the handful of GOP House incumbents running for re-election in Biden districts who are very threatened right now---

(It is possible for the Democrats to flip the House by winning enough of the Biden districts in New York state alone.)

Now I can't say that's the definite reason he's there, but it's the only reason he should be.

It was all just to raise money and for him to launch a media empire. His winning was the classic 'dog catches bumper'. Once he got into the White House, he developed an addiction to the skimming and the bribes we strongly suspect he and his family have collected. I am amazed he has kept his con game going so very long.
