Im not blaming Trump for Rouths alleged intention to shoot him. Im just noting that hes made it more difficult for Secret Service and other law enforcement officials to protect him at the taxpayers expense.
The gunman never had him in his line of sight nor fired a shot. Trump ignored Secret Service warnings about security at his golf course. Yet hes blaming Democrats and raising money.

Supposed strongman Donald Trump is surprisingly good at playing the victim. After what is widely being called his second assassination attempta man set up a rifle in the woods outside his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sundayhe blamed the highly inflammatory language of Democrats for the violence. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have called him a threat to democracy, he noted.
These are people that want to destroy our country, Trump countered. It is called the enemy from within. They are the real threat.
Whos using inflammatory language?
His running mate and lackey Sen. JD Vance sounded the same notes. No one has tried to kill Kamala Harris in last couple of months and two people now have tried to kill Donald Trump in the last couple of months. Id say thats pretty strong evidence that the left needs to tone down their rhetoric.

(1,340 posts)so what's the problem?
I mean, those of us who feel threatened by a guy with an AK47--whether walking down the street, or helping police control a peaceful demonstration; we are anti-2nd ammendment wimps, right?

(2,821 posts)strategic. He's probably got some loose wiring, so proving his intent could be challenging. For instance, he may have believed he was still in Ukraine or something.
I did a Google Maps street tour around the golf club perimeter and was amazed at how dense the shrub/hedge cover is. I'd estimate 85% would require at least a machete to hack through to view the course. Also interesting is that the northeast quadrant of the course is literally connected to the PB Sheriff's Office and the PB Judiciary Complex properties.

(6,846 posts)They put protocols in place to protect the candidate in this particular environment.
They acted consistently with the protocols.
They neutralized a potential threat before it put the candidate at risk.
Apprehended the threat virtually immediately.
Job well done.
Anything to learn from this ? Sure...but in the end, job well done.
IMHO.

(6,846 posts)Instead we get asshat pointing fingers.
I'm waiting for him to start screaming that "Kamala personally delivered Starbucks and croissants for breakfast to my would be assassin while he waiting in his hiding spot". And the sad thing is that some percentage of the cult will nod their heads and say "yeah - I knew she was involved". What an asshat.
