Greg Dworkin: Trump/Vance think they're arguing policy in Springfield, but they're chasing indies and undecideds away

people don't vote on policy or "the economy" writ large.

They vote on vibes, have-a-beer-with likeability and gas prices

Trump/Vance think they're arguing policy in Springfield, but they're driving their own numbers down (the ick factor), chasing indies and undecideds away. 1/

accepting Josh Marshall's (brilliant) "two campaigns theory" (a dysfunctional marriage between Trump/Vance and LaCivita/Wiles), Trump/Vance revel in the attention Springfield gets them but the LaCivita/Wiles part has to do cleanup on aisle 4 from now until November. 2/

I don't see how Trump can win on this. And I think we are starting to see movement in the polls the wrong way for him.

A lifetime in politics ahead, but early voting starts imminently. /fin
