Project 2025: It may also about the 25th Amendment

I ran across this TikTok video and what she says seems very plausible. The link is below but I’ve transcribed it. What do you think?

“ … there’s a reason Project 2025 evangelicals who run the Republican Party are aggressively fighting to get Donald Trump into the White House... All the evangelical dark money getting Democrats removed from voter rolls in specific states is because there's really important Senate races Republicans need to win to get the majority in the Senate.

They're riding Trump into the White House even though he's clearly in mental decline … it's apparent that he has lost control: he can't control himself or his mouth …and is unstable and unhinged. It's because they already have chosen JD Vance. JD Vance was hand picked by Peter Thiel* who's part of the Heritage Foundation--project 2025 authors. JD Vance’s ... is the actual horse Project 2025 is trying to get into the White House and it has to be through Donald Trump.

The theory is if they're able to get a Trump win and control the majority of the Senate, Vance can invoke the 25th Amendment** that essentially allows the Vice President – along with the Trump’s cabinet members who are all authors of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 (just as they were in his 2016 cabinet) to vote together to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Donald Trump leaving JD Vance in charge.

The Project 2025 cabinet members would be put in charge of the different government departments and with a majority Supreme Court they would take full control of our government to make Project 2025 happen in the year 2025.

When you look at how the Republican Party is fighting and what's happening it just seems crazy. You see that Donald Trump doesn't even communicate with JD Vance at all. It makes sense when you look at all this through that lens of that strategy ... it is very plausible what they are planning to do.

* - Peter Thiel is worth $8 or $9 billion. He is a tech investor and one of Facebook's earliest investors. He mentored Vance and introduced him to Trump in 2021. Thiel financed Vance's Senate run in 2022 giving him a donation of $15 million--the largest donation ever to a single candidate in history. Thiel was born in Germany in 1967. His family immigrated to Cleveland OH, and his father was a chemical engineer. Thiel has worked as a securities lawyer, speechwriter former Secretary of Education to William Bennett. He called Warren Buffett a "sociopathic grandpa from Omaha".

** - The 25th Amendment, proposed by Congress and ratified by the states in the aftermath of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, provides the procedures for replacing the president or vice president in the event of death, removal, resignation, or incapacitation.

After all this time one would imagine most DUers have a firm understanding of Trump's mind -- he's a total narcissist. The idea he would allow himself to be removed from office based on his being "unable to discharge the powers and duties of the office" is ridiculous. And under the 25th amendment, he can force the issue to Congress where it would require a 2/3 vote of both houses -- not a majority of the Senate" -- to remove him. That would never happen for any number of reasons -- his loyalists, plus many members who would not want to set a precedent of using the 25th amendment for someone who has not been shown to be actually incapable of discharging the duties and powers of the office. In short, this random TikTokker is talking out of their ass.

So if you're still willing to bet on it, and let's hope he doesn't get elected so it doesn't matter, I'm down for $100.

Trump is clearly done. If they can win the election they'll exercise the 25th amendment and we'll have a smart sociopath who is utterly undemocratic and completely amoral serving as what? Dictator-for-life?

Just underscores that we cannot afford to lose.

As Frank Schaeffer pointed out some months ago, Mike Johnson is a "Christian Reconstructionist" who believes in Rousas J. Rushdoony's whacko ideas hook, line, and sinker. Schaeffer's dad, Francis Schaeffer, believed Rushdoony to have been "clinically insane." This is something coming from somebody who was a big influence on the religious right in the 1970s until his death in 1984.

Make no mistake. These "Reconstructionists" like Mike Johnson are bent on mass genocide of anybody who doesn't toe the line on their completely insane interpretation of the Bible. NOBODY is safe from these tyrants. They take to heart the musings of the crackpot Rousas J. Rushdoony, who died in around 2003, but his insane ideas about "theonomy" have heavily influenced the religious far right.

Trump is their tool. If he gets elected, which we better hope he doesn't, the Christofascists WILL remove him. Katy bar the door if that happens.

My feeling is the country will split up before it will ever adhere to these nutjobs' demands for a "Christian" society.

Real theologians don't buy into it at all. Basically "theonomy" and "theocracy" are one and the same, with almost identical ideas from Islamic Sharia Law. They want the death penalty for everything: adultery, homosexuality, "premarital" sex, prostitution, even disobedience to parents. Virtually NOBODY would be left after these whackos got done with their mass genocide program, which would be on a scale that would make Hitler blush.
