When Stacey Abrams was running for Gov of GA, I engaged with a young Black woman at a restaurant who told me she is from GA.

When I told her Stacey was the first woman of color to represent a major political party in a race for gov of a state, no reaction. Like "meh..."

When I told her Oprah endorsed Stacey, her eyes got about the size of dinner plates and she reverently whispered "Oprah?"

I don't get it. Oprah is great, too, but come on!

I'm not a fan, but she is a very successful Black woman. It was just stunning to me how the woman I spoke with was so taken with even Oprah's name, but no apparent respect for Stacey running for gov.

for the Center for Constitutional Rights. One of my late friend's sons worked with him there. The man is brilliant. I think that anyone who values the Constitution would appreciate him.

Also, in case those of my generation forget, we questioned everything and everybody when we were young. And we could tell who was honest, and who wasn't.
