First, there were two attempts. And then I got curious and checked to see if "multiple" can be applied to describe two events. Would you believe that one source said no. And another source went through gyrations to say, yes. Clear as mud.
Second, there are a lot of crazy people out there that are taking advantage of our loose gun laws to make all kinds of murder attempts. It seems to only be called assassination when it involves a political figure. I think that the secret service, FBI will do everything they can to flag them, but, really, with these gun laws if someone wakes up one morning to buy a gun and do the deed in the same day, our laws aren't going to pick it up until it's too late. In that case, blame the NRA.
Third, so it seems that De Santis was asked to pitch in on the idea of putting metal detectors in schools. Not sure if it's attributed to De Santis, but the answer was deflected by claiming that the real problem was mental health.
So, as I'm understanding this, the secret service is going to get blamed if they don't take heroic measures to stop potential gunmen, but De Santis thinks that blaming mental health as the real problem is going to clear him of school shootings?

Oh, then there is the fact that their cult leader insists on wearing easy to spot red hats. What amazes me is that he hasn't been really hurt in those incidents.
