With the amount of hate and divisiveness that he has cultivated, it is a miracle that there have not been more assassination attempts. He considers everyone and anyone that does not support him to be his enemy. He has called names and made overt racist attacks on entire groups of people. He has befriended white nationalists and the KKK.

Now, our society is required to protect his destructive actions and speech with a Praetorian Guard as he goes golfing and attends his public rallies. A just society would not have him out in public. They would have him in an ankle bracelet and under house arrest, at the bare minimum.

If I understand gun etiquette properly, as long as you're not firing the gun illegally, isn't he just enjoying his 2A rights? There were folks with guns at J6, friends of TFG IIRC, who didn't fire the guns, and nothing happened to them. And the folks who put the noose up and chanted "Hang Mike Pence" didn't actually try to hang him.

This guy might have been fantasizing about an assassination, but he didn't act on it. So why is it an "attempt"?

The secret service does a pretty good job and most political figures tend to be well guarded. Trump, however, is likely awful to protect and goes on impromptu outings. And picks gathering sites that are stupid places to hold events.

The fact is that Trump seems to be an easy target. That might be on Trump and his campaign.
