"assassination attempt" at totally face value, bemoaning language toward Trump (I heard no mention of HIS horrific inciting posts and language, though they probably got into it later), but it felt like a regurgitation of everything Trump wanted in the media.

So, no matter what, this appears to be a big "success" attention-wise for TSF. Almost like a Priest absolving his sins.
