While mail in voting may be convenient, please do whatever you can to either vote in person

or use an "Official Ballot Drop Box".

Unfortunately, 11 states "BAN" drop off boxes; mostly southern states.

With the USPS mail delivery not at its best, and I would guess a huge increase in mail-in ballots this year, many ballots may never reach your state's election headquarters.

I will be voting early in my local precinct when early voting starts on 10/21.

To find out what options are available to you and when early voting starts, check online at your county's supervisor of elections web site.

I drop mine off in the steel box in front of the county clerk's office before afternoon pick up time, or drop it off in the office.

Can people bring a mail-in ballot to the polling place? (if they get mail-in ballots at all)

CA sends one to every registered voter.
But you can vote in person at a polling place.
I haven't done so in many years.

I live in magastan, CA, and drop mine off in person at the county clerk's office. Even then, I have my doubts, but at least it gets to them intact.

We have always traveled down to the County Election Board Office to vote in Person...the ballots are now in the right place. Unfortunately we live in Ohio so even though our County (Summit) always goes BLUE, all of Ohio but SEVEN counties goes with the Dark Side so our Votes don't really count in the Presidential Election.

I think mail-in voting is safe, especially in blue Hennepin county. Anyway, I already requested my ballot.

And will get an email that our ballot was received. Of course the ballots cannot be processed and counted til Election Day - a holdover from the days of limited absentee ballots. Republicans want to make it look like fraud (and almost succeeded) when the vote counts change overnight. Dems introduced a bill that would allow vote processing to begin before Election Day. Their “compromise” was to end drop boxes, and make all votes dependent on the US Mail and manipulation thereof. No thank you.

There are drop boxes, but I've never had a single issue with using USPS. I'll be mailing it the day after I get it.

Pretty sure the whole west coast - CA, OR and WA- is vote by mail.

I don’t even have to pony up a stamp if I want to mail it. It’s prepaid.

I use a county ballot drop box that is on the way to a grocery store that I frequent.

I get a text that evening or the next morning from the county elections office letting me know they have my ballot and it was accepted (meaning valid).

All vote by mail should be that easy.

I did use the drop boxes during the pandemic. My husband & I will vote early in person like we usually do, but our college daughters are voting absentee, so they have to take their chances with the USPS. They can check on the GA Sec of State website to see when their ballots are accepted. We live in very blue DeKalb County.

Is that the US Sec of State or your states' Sec of State?

My late brother voted early, the earlier the better. He didn't trust mail in ballots. I don't either.

Edited to add: I like pissing off the old biddies running our polling place. They're all Republicans and can't say a word when I joke about how I vote for the same people, because I'm a veteran and I love America.

I upset some old woman one year explaining to my mother what Libertarians were (Republicans without the religious crazy). I'm so bad. If there was a Hell, I'd be burning in it. LOL
