Trump blames Biden and Harris for Secret Service flaws leading to assassination attempt

In his campaign fundraising email following the shooting (according to WaPo), Trump

suggested without evidence that his political rivals, Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, personally made it more difficult for the Secret Service to protect him leading up to the Butler shooting. And he did not push back when a right-wing podcast host, Monica Crowley, accused government agencies of “slow-walking” evidence and asked Trump, “Does it look increasingly to you like this was a suspicious, maybe even inside job?”

“It’s very suspicious,” Trump said. “The more you see it, the more you start to say, ‘There could be something else.’”

Elsewhere in the article it discusses the fundraising email because who doesn't make a buck off an assassination attempt or a threat of one?

Trump’s campaign moved quickly on Sunday to solicit a new wave of donations, sending out an email to supporters that read: “Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace.”

The message linked to a fundraising page that added, “there are people in this world who will do whatever it takes to stop us. I will not stop fighting for you.”

Texts from the campaign shared the fundraising link with the same call for “UNITY. PEACE.”

5. Is there a single SS agent on his detail against their will? Or are all of them

there because they volunteered to work with him? Not a rhetorical question, seeking a real answer. Because volunteering to work with TCF isn't a sign that you are one of the "best people" IMO.

6. Your point is taken. That aside, this SS agent prevented a rifle shot.

I do not know the details. From what I have read, the SS agent was scouting one golf course hole ahead of Trump. The SS agent spotted the rifle barrel along with Routh along the fence line. The SS agent fired at Routh. If all of that is true, the SA agent did a good job.

Some of them, or so I've heard, are guys who were with him during his presidency.

8. Well, maybe if played on a more secure golf course, this guy wouldn't have gotten as close as he did.

I believe as a former president, Trump can play golf on a military base. Instead, he plays on a course that is surrounded by a chain link fence.

His course in Jupiter, FL is also much more secure.

9. Republicans should demand means testing for SS protection

That would be consistent with their proclaimed small government philosophy.
They don’t want to increase the budget for secret service, just complain.

Billionaires can easily afford private security and Trump has his own private security anyway.

15. The toxic energy Trump spews is real... I absolutely felt it

When I randomly bumped into him and his entourage in an airport ca. About 1993. I never met anyone that toxic to other people in public.

In all seriousness even if it was the most beloved Democrat ever, I would still feel the same way: 100% the most toxic person I ever met. I cringe thinking back on it and I was just an innocent bystander.
