Update on my canvassing in FL

I went again this weekend and the guy that I partnered with was new and didn’t want to speak so I did most of it. I did it! I can’t believe it! Spoke with so many nice and highly motivated people who plan on voting blue all the way. It was very uplifting.
I still can’t better I did it. Sounds funny to brag but I am super proud of myself. 😊
Going again next weekend for sure.

Imo, these accounts from the ground show
a much different race than the polls!

I know it may be a long shot, but I’m keeping fingers crossed that Florida turns blue.

I (and others) jokingly call that state Flori-DUH, and the redness of the state will hopefully turn blue in November.

I know it is probably discouraging down there in FLA, but without hard work by folks like you we'll never get it to turn blue.

There's a lady in my neighborhood who works with our county Democratic party & she had a registered voter list that included party, so she could make sure she got to all the registered Democrats, make sure they were voting, & ask about any neighbors that would be worth talking to, like we knew Republican neighbors who were definitely not voting for Trump, they hated him.

My parents lived in a red area on the east coast, but I put most of their neighbors into that "decent but wrong" category that will have a lot of them simply unable to vote for TFG when they get into that booth all by themselves.

They were the people who told me they were planning to vote Greenie in 2000 because Dubya was a moron and Cheney was a snake, but GOP down ticket because they wanted their taxes low..

Fanatical GOP cultists are still out there, so be prepared to wish them a nice day and leave if you run into any.

I don't know how much Florida is in play this year. I do know it will most likely be close.

Be nice to get rid of pRick Scott, though.

I did it for President Obama in '08 here in AZ. I have a high level of social anxiety so I probably won't again (my "DO SOMETHING!" this year was the essay I wrote and shared here and DU and some apolitical friends).

Thank you SO MUCH. It's hard work and super necessary.

Some Trumpette on FB posted a photo of a margarita and said I should get a hobby (instead of discussing politics). I told her I have a hobby, it's called saving American Democracy. She thought I was full of delusions of grandeur (of course her vocab was too tiny to articulate that concept). They take so much for granted. Thank you for helping save our democracy.

May I ask where you are canvassing? My son lives in Orlando which is mostly a blue area. He canvassed for Obama even though he had very little spare time. It makes all the difference.

Well, it feels good to have done it! At least, that’s been my experience.

Good work! And from one state to the north, thank you!!
