MI-SEN: Pro-Rogers super PAC puts $4M behind 2 ads in Senate race
The Great Lakes Conservatives Fund super political action committee said Friday it was spending $3.77 million to air a new pair of ads in the Michigan U.S. Senate race to help Republican Mike Rogers, including a positive spot boosting the former seven-term congressman in west Michigan.
"China is flooding our streets with fentanyl, buying up our land, stealing Michigan jobs, and our politicians are helping them do it," the ad narrator says. "Mike Rogers is an Army veteran and former law enforcement officer. He will take on China and fix our economy."
The 30-second ad will air on broadcast TV in markets including Grand Rapids and Traverse City and on digital platforms, as well as airing in the Lansing market on cable and digital over the next two weeks, including during Detroit Lions and University of Michigan football games, according to a news release.
The ad by GLCF, which has spent roughly $12.1 million total on the Senate race, is a departure from others aired during the general election by outside groups and Rogers allies so far that largely have been attacking U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, the Democratic nominee, rather than saying positive things about Rogers.
