The Kamala Harris North Carolina rally was at capacity yesterday, and over 17,000 people showed up for her in Greensboro. This was AFTER 7,500 went to her rally in Charlotte that same day.

(14,870 posts)Big events, in for instance Austin, do have parking lots available with buses running to get people to the actual site.

(22,232 posts)Parking for 17,000 requires long distances for attendees to walk (many which might be elder or disabled). Providing shuttles for them from parking to the arena is a courtesy for attendees.

Makes me wonder how many buses are needed for 17K in Greensboro. Or even over 7K in Charlotte? A HUGE number!
End of argument. People know how to walk and drive in North Carolina. Shuttles are likely provided for those with disabilities.
