Do not get complacent. We must win the election on Nov. 5th not a day before and then we have to defend the win.
And we must deliver to the Harris/Walz ticket both sides of Congress.
It. Is. Not. Over. Yet.

The swing states are all that matter at this point, as far as the presidency goes.
We also, as you noted, need to hold on to the Senate and retake the House. The Senate, in particular, is going to be a challenge.

(26,963 posts)Won't be as long as it gives the GOP an advantage and they control enough state legislatures to block a change.

(720 posts)At least it is for the presidential election. I never believed Trump ever had a chance because people are sick of him. The real contest is over Congress and the statehouses, just as it was always going to be.

(221 posts)I believe we will have the votes if all is fair. But remember, there are still court cases pending about who can vote, and there are serious plans for intimidation, vote rejection, refusals to certify, etc.

We know that billionaires will gladly fund anything
and we know our media are a bunch of quislings. Yes I said it. Some of these reporters especially those that claim to be in the center, deserve a fate like Quisling.
and lastly, let us not forget Putin.
Even if we clearly win, they will fight.

(2,532 posts)No one should ignore the fact that Trump and his fascists are not above pulling an actual armed coup de atat of sorts. His assholes are not armed to the teeth for nothing.
These lunatics are within a whisker of ruling over a country that is the greatest military and economic power the world has ever known.
Does anybody really think they are going just going to walk away if they lose?

There are also some phone banks going on in a few days I might hop in on.

Leave nothing to chance.
The bigger the margin, the tougher it is to protest the result.
Get every vote that you can.

(23,368 posts)I'm encouraged by all the positive news about Kamala, but it's when I consider the repukes that I feel fear and uncertainty. They will do anything they have to (anything!) to win. Thus far, they have gotten away with so much!!

(215 posts)I didnt watch the debate, but read that Kamala came out and said shes pro fracking. That will help a lot here in Western PA. Surprisingly, there was very little chatter about our upcoming election among the people I talked to. The Americans on our trip declared it a politics free vacation. The European public are most likely very interested, but theyre just busy with their own lives. Probably better for their health.
I still contend she will easily win PA but I want a true landslide. Two things to watch for-ballots arent automatically being sent out this year. The people who wont vote for trump need to be convinced to vote FOR Kamala. Pro fracking helps. It would be great to get their votes too.
Just have to keep working. Every vote will help.

(15,862 posts)It's all well and good to say keep working through election day, but this refrain of "we're the underdog" , imo, serves to discourage voters rather than encourage them.
So the Harris campaign should embrace the fact that they're winning and tell voters to hop on the bandwagon. Enthusiasm begets enthusiasm and the work that goes with it.
